Big7ime, I was at the SDX AGM a couple of weeks ago, there were about 5 PIs there (incl. me). Might be worth considering the mkt cap of SDX, vs. current profits and then compare to the possible value of this find and future potential. Sorry for the OT.

Why is everyone on this site into sdx? Or is it cos it's ramped across all boards by short term nervous traders. I haven't researched it much but looks to be a nothing too special gas find, old circle oil assets and continual dilution of shrs no? The latest "in stock" after panr, vog, jog, hur

I think it is possible that RH tried to persuade the BoD to put the company up for sale. I agree with FA that a bid from RH is unlikely.

It is also my opinion that the share price of Amerisur is and has been carefully managed over the last few months and still is. There has still been no holding announcement other than one by the company registrars, but none for RH himself.

Not comparing like with like these Lower Sand-3 flow rates:

Yatay-1 flowed at 10,440bopd on an ESP pumped production test

Marisposa-1 flowed at 4,601bopd on natural free flow production test

One pumped and the other a natural flow rate

Never surprise if Amerisur holders never see the development of this field, well not in its current form as it might be better for ONGC to consider a takeout before someone else does which is also a good reason to keep the test restricted to 12ft. of pay

They had a very good idea this would be a 10,000bopd+ well if it was optimised, but what this well achieved in terms of data then its more important to ascertain exactly what they have.

"An interval of 12 feet at the top of the 120 feet of net pay logged in the L3 sandstone was perforated in order to perform a short-term test with a drill-stem-test temporary string."

This is by no means a permanent result and they have stated as much with the comments about the temporary string and the drill stem test.

No oil company should maximise production immediately on its first find like this, as it would be foolish. Once they ascertain exactly what they have at CPO-5 by drilling a couple more wells, then they will be in a position to pop additional production wells, depending on the data.

Very good result without even the benefit of an ESP.

4,601 barrels of oil per day of 40.8 degree API oil with a water cut of 0.35% and 348psi flowing wellhead pressure over a 40/64" choke.

We might see a bid soon for AMEr after this result!

That increases our current production by 30 percent.
