It's only one poster (who incidentally has stated he sold to buy HUR) that doesn't like it!

The majority of the past 40 or so posts seem to miss a very simple point: companies are obliged to issue an RNS about any development in the business which may be considered to be market sensitive.

The board have therefore complied with that obligation.

Let's discuss FACTS rather than opinions of the board. Today we were informed about a FACT.

End of (this incredibly pointless) conversation.

It's rather ironic, most of us have been annoyed to infuriated with the bod for NOT keeping us updated and now people seem extremely perturbed when they ARE keeping us updated. Dear oh dear.

Bottom line is that things are moving along nicely, there's no bad news, Oil price is in a stable upward curve and all in all AMER are looking good.

Cheer up folks for Christs sake, it's Sunny outside !!!

Just think - extrapolating the multiple universe theory there must surely be one in which Amer's share price just can't stop rising. Coo...

Disappointed that the current OBA throughput and status were omitted from JW's update although they may be saving it for our monthly bulletin. Apart from that he found what he was looking for as usual.

Nearly right davwal. The jam was "offered" to Alice by the White Queen as an inducement. From wiki: Jam tomorrow or jam to-morrow (older spelling) is an expression for a never-fulfilled promise. It originates from Lewis Carroll's 1871 book Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. ... "The rule is, jam to-morrow and jam yesterday – but never jam to-day."

Cmackay: 'jam' refers to 'jam tomorrow', which comes from Alice in Wonderland. You can have jam yesterday or tomorrow, but never today. So in effect you never get the jam - a promise that's impossible to deliver on. Hence it being used frequently in relation to Amer!

Well, having read the RNS at 7am, I was assuming the shares would rise today. It didn't occur to me that some might view it as negative....

In drilling wells there are various methods for ascertaining geological information, some employ Drillstem Testing which is done during the drilling of the well, which is NOT what Amerisur used for this well.

In drillstem testing casing is perfed where its considered most efficient and well has packer(s) lowered into well. The lower packer is expanded to create a seal. If the formation tested is not at the bottom or near the bottom of the well it requires two packers isolating intended producing zone, with packers above and below to seal off, with a valve in the top packer opened to assess fluid flows and pressures.

Newbie question, if you don't mind.... I've seen the term 'jam' on several threads on this site, but I don't understand what it means. Would anyone mind explaining it to me please?

The answer is that they always proceed in this "two RNS" manner and it would be a deviation from their normal practice to omit this "pre numbers" RNS.

Obviously, it is a technical RNS and means more to those who know more, such as those who who have pointed out its pupose and the reserves implications and to that I would add that the M sands are part of the ongoing story in this RNS.

Francis: Because people like you and others including me would have complained about failing to inform shareholders of market sensitive information in a timely manner?

In any event the aim of the drill was made clear...obviously you missed it so for the avoidance of doubt.

"Platanillo-21 is a crestal well on the Pad 2N structure, designed to maximise production capacity and life and as the second well on this pad, to begin the construction of an optimal drainage system as performed on other development pads. This will help to maximise reserves recovery."

Worth noting that CPO-5 result has first been stated in terms of net oil, and its not at all uncommon and especially where logging while drilling equipment is undertaken.

Dis-regard the pessimists, they made a good find, the market will decide now what the share price will do. Slow steady build is all we need, and more throughput in the OBA pipeline. The market will catch on one day and it will steadily head up this year. IMO
