26/8/2023 20:50 | Thai airways are currently paying us a nominal monthly fixed fee. The game changer will be when this increases to a more reasonable amount. I believe TA is making good progress, following its rehabilitation from bankruptcy. | 2wild
26/8/2023 13:36 | The website is worth reading as regarding the leases the future does look optimistic - minimum 3 years should be no problem, and maybe longer - and cud the dividend go back to 2p per quarter? I did notice that the bid price has been slowly edging up, maybe that will affect the offer price in time. | clive7878
25/8/2023 15:33 | Lease details are on the company website - about us : company information | scrwal
25/8/2023 15:19 | With the exception of the probable capital loss. It could be or there may be a settlement like for dna1 which would result in a gain. If the lease is extended then it’s gains all round. Or if the Thai aircraft are sold it is likely gains. It’s also a currency arbitrage as a lot of the rent is paid in USD and as the gbp falls the GBP profit increases. So yes - what you said - but with nuances (which imho point to a more positive picture) | andyandyoj
25/8/2023 13:17 | @scrwal, that's totally correct imvho. Not too dissimilar from film production companies. | casholaa
25/8/2023 12:56 | how long are the current leases? | biggcl
25/8/2023 12:45 | clive7878 I am a recent investor here with my understanding as follows Companies like this are created to purchase and then lease aircraft. Specific aircraft are targeted at inception and funds raised. There is no intention to buy further aircraft and if any are sold the proceeds are returned to shareholders via purchases of shares. The company will be wound up when the leases expire , they may be extended as is the case with the Thai aircraft. This is why the secondhand values are important. This is effectively a fixed life company with significant dividends with a probable unknown capital loss depending on when you purchase your shares. This is a simplistic take and if I am incorrect I would be grateful for an explanation of any errors I have made. The above is why I didn't invest in DNA2 as their leases are expiring in the very near short term. | scrwal
25/8/2023 12:38 | @clive So far, expansion not on cards. Cash withheld is mooted to be in case of Thai wobbles. | nicholasblake
25/8/2023 11:32 | Does AA4 need to keep cash back to buy new planes to lease and expand their business. What are their futures plans to grow their business and not be too dependant on the current state of affairs. Next divi due towards mid October. Declaration date 5 October Ex-dividend date 12 October Pay date 31 October | clive7878
25/8/2023 10:19 | No reason the dividend should be in the 2s. And still some spare capital which could be returned. | nicholasblake
25/8/2023 09:45 | Last one was 1.75p per share. No indication that the next one will be different | andyandyoj
25/8/2023 09:24 | Anyone know the probable amount of the next divi please? | cestnous
24/8/2023 22:20 | There's too much attention on here, can't you guys just add on the quiet??? Many airlines have a mix of owned and leased aircraft. From their perspective, it'll likely be cheaper until demand picks up to sell and possibly lease what they need later on. Grounded aircraft are routinely serviced and cleaned and even the engines have some sort of condom cover put over them, but they also take up space. The bigger and more complex the aircraft, the greater the running costs. | casholaa
24/8/2023 21:42 | Ah. Looks like the AA4 planes not up for sale. The ones for sale all seem to be HS-TU planes | bagpuss67
24/8/2023 21:35 | It's a simply flying article published 6 hours ago Want An Airbus A380? Thai Airways Is Selling 6! BY MOLLY RUSSELL PUBLISHED 6 HOURS AGO Thai Airways' entire Airbus A380 fleet is currently up for bidding in "as-is, where-is" condition. | bagpuss67
24/8/2023 21:25 | Bagpuss AA4 leases 4 A350-990 to Thai Airways. I think you are looking at the website/ or something else that is linked to the rehabilitation by the Thai Plan Administrator following the filing in May 2020 and subsequent court approved amendments. This gives an idea of the Thai fleet past and present | scrwal
24/8/2023 20:03 | Thai Airways has put its entire Airbus A380 fleet up for sale in an "as-is, where-is" condition following three years of grounding in Bangkok and Utapao. Aplogies as quite new here. Has anyone seen this. What the impact for AA4 if any. Presumably if it was material it would have been rnsd | bagpuss67
24/8/2023 17:29 | One of our aircraft (EOM) was struck by a drone last week on approach to Nice. All well. Three days on the ground but now back in the air. The replacement service while it was cancelled was another of our planes (EOB). So disaster averted (fortunately) thanks to a robust plane and a skilful crew. hxxps://www.arabianb | andyandyoj
24/8/2023 10:41 | eeza - true The price could be low as well cause the stock is unknown to a lot of investors. Bid on its way up - slowly bit my bit rising 47.2p as at 2.35pm on 24th August. Remember last Monday it was 46.0p.Yesterday 47.12p | clive7878
24/8/2023 10:39 | The link in 572 must have been what I was referring to in post 543 but I didn't know that at the time. It strikes me that Emirates are between the rock and the hard place. They have a popular aircraft but can't make it more fuel efficient without Airbus and Rolls Royce's cooperation. They can't replace them with other aircraft because there seems to be a shortage. The new Boeing 777 is not meeting expectations on fuel. So, for now, it looks as though they have to make the best of it with the current fleet. | langland
23/8/2023 21:52 | Well, Clive, you don't get 14.5% yield without some risk. | eeza
23/8/2023 21:11 | Eeza - many thanks. My only reservation with AA4 is that they may be too dependent on Emlrates, but all is well currently & all looks good for the future. | clive7878 |
