18/5/2017 13:14 | Order for marine, the MT30 turbine is gaining traction on the international market, bodes well for future orders : interesting past article : | rogerrail
12/5/2017 17:53 | excluding employees, who got a decent amount as well as a free and matching offer, i think the general public got 150 as mentioned above. It was not a big share offer compered to BG. BT and BP. Hence the small allocation. | careful
12/5/2017 15:07 | The probate is a little more complex than you would imagine and this is about proving purchase and ownership with an ex wife. From what you have mentioned I should be looking for two identical payments, 1st in May 1987 and the second around August time? I am assuming that there was a limit to how many shares could be applied for at the initial offer? | adobbing
12/5/2017 15:02 | Petrofac share price has tanked today after it announced an SFO investigation into Unaoil. Sounds familiar here! | wad collector
12/5/2017 14:46 | I am experiencing similar problems in sorting out a relative's financial affairs. Fortunately I managed to establish that the shares were floated in 1987 at a price of 170p per share payable in two equal instalments of 85p per share in May 87 and Sept 87. Am not sure how many he applied for ut he was allocated 150. I recall that he was disappointed with the allocation but bought additional shares in the market. His (incomplete) records indicate that there was a Rights Issue on a 1 for 4 basis at 130p per share in Sept 1993.Allotment document is stamped 28/9/1993. | standish11
12/5/2017 14:01 | digging deep here, but i seem to remember 85p for payment 1 then 85p for pmt2. such a small amount,as you would not get many shares, are you sure it will effect a legacy under the current rules? | careful
12/5/2017 13:53 | Thanks for your insight. All I have is a current share certificate and 30 years of banks statements. My problem is I imagine the initial and subsequent payments would have been made by cheque and all I have on statements are cheque numbers and amounts! If I know original offer price and dates payments would have been made I can probably identify these transactions and fill in a few more blanks! | adobbing
12/5/2017 13:32 | need to dig that lot out. may 1987. you would not get many. if you remember they were part paid with an equal payment a few months later. unfortunately the crash of oct 1987 occurred a few months after launch, the week the trees were blown down and the shares suffered. happy times. | careful
12/5/2017 13:06 | Trying to research information on the original privatisation and share offer back in 1987 as part of an estate for probate purposes? Do any "very" long term holders here have any information on what the details in the offer prospectus were, such as; Maximum amount of shares issued to subscribers to the privatisation? Price for those shares? Dates payments would have been taken from bank accounts? Have tried searching online for copies of the original documents, but so far unsuccessfully! | adobbing
12/5/2017 10:56 | You did time that sell well , at least in the short term. Good luck elsewhere. | wad collector
11/5/2017 13:04 | Haha of course I have, but will remove from monitor, in all seriousness this has been a poor investment for me and at these levels I am glad to be out. Good luck to those holding, this has been a frustrating hold and happy with the modest profit banked and looking elsewhere. Watching the falling knife that is centrica presently from the distant sidelines. | fozzyb

09/5/2017 15:29 | It is intriguing as to why sentiment has changed over recent days.Could it be that RR have won some significant orders which they will officially announce at the Paris Air Show next month. The TrentXWB engine is reported to be performing above specification in terms of fuel economy and is also very reliable which is encouraging for A350 sales potential. Maybe they have had encouraging feedback from Boeing re the possibility of supplying engines for the rumoured replacement for the 757. The Saudis are also thought to want more Typhoons and once the General Election is out of the way maybe the UK Government will give the go ahead-unless Corbyn is the PM of course. Perhaps also Warren East's body language at the AGM gave a nod and a wink. | standish11
09/5/2017 14:11 | This has been a good share price run ; I will unload some if it hits 890. I suspect more share price volatility to come... | wad collector
09/5/2017 07:03 | "Rolls-Royce targets engine work for Turkish jet fighter Rolls-Royce has partnered with Turkish industrial group Kale with the aim of building engines for the country’s new domestically built fighter jet. The FTSE 100 business will own 49pc of the joint venture with Kale, which will target both civilian and military aircraft engine deals, but will initially focus on the TF-X fighter." 08/5/2017 18:54 | Airbus have announced a furher order for 10 A350XWBs today. It's a pity that Rolls will initially lose money on the engines but Total Care will remedy this in the long term (I hope). | standish11

03/5/2017 16:03 | Typical political procrastination, and we think we are going to make a success of Brexit ? Fat chance if we don't invest in opportunities like this right now! UK Government are full of hot air, bullsh*t and failed promises as usual: | rogerrail
27/4/2017 16:52 | The consolation is that the A400 problems are due to a GE supplied part and all the liability for late delivery is with Airbus. Also they do have a resolution which was scheduled to be implemented in the next few months. | rogerrail |
