RR order book was quoted yesterday at £71 billion - Derby works shift patterns to achieve 24hr cover.

SMR's not due for a few years (after 2025) , and that's if the government does the right thing and awards the development contract to RR

Trent only competes on one platform - B787

but RR is guaranteed significant annual revenue increases over medium term as regards sales and service on A330 and A350

UK energy supply is problematic just a matter of time before we have severe winter & blackouts.

Reliance on Russian gas & electricity make some countries vulnerable.
Think also there are major companies who need reliant power supplies & will invest in their small-scale nuclear reactors.

Also their new small-scale Nuclear reactors likely to appeal to countries wanting to boost their energy supplies.

Do you mean - like the UK?

When the clouds lift what do you see.
Orders for new Trent Engines - fuel economy better than rivals.
Also their new small-scale Nuclear reactors likely to appeal to countries wanting to boost their energy supplies.

I would have thought a revisit of the last 3 months lows if not the last years lows will be pencilled in the diaries of many a hedge fund who likes to short and punish boardroom stupidity and incompetence.

They were hedging primarily against a falling dollar: the engines are priced in dollars. I guess they didn't expect the referendum to go the way it did.

Plus, the £ pound was way too high at $1.7 to £1.

So why were RR hedging against the pound falling when a falling pound makes them more competitive. Also, if sales are in $ or € they make more money on converting existing sales back to sterling?

Can someone please explain that to me?

Not if a currency hedging position goes against you and the buyer of that engine picks up a bigger bargain

As Rolls Royce sells most of its products in US dollars, I would have thought that a falling pound would be to its advantage??? A five million dollar engine sale now converts in to a lot more pounds sterling than it did previously.

No position here though I'd agree. It's the restructure statements and underlying profit driving it. Watch this finish blue.

As "expected" by the market, PBT £813m is ahead of consensus £690m.
Q is by how much?

FcF is in line, but disappointing for 2017?

Citigroup reiterated their Buy rating last week with a target price of 935p. As this is much higher than most other broker ratings on RR it will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the results tomorrow.

How does weak sterling figure? How many other nations punish their industries for giving competitive hand-outs?

"Rolls-Royce set for record £4bn loss as weak sterling and fines take their toll"

Can't see much value at this level
Balance sheet value just gone from bad to disaster
ROCE. Dividend, Debt to equity... poooor

Revenue flat to down. Prospects unlikely to improve any time soon. Maintenance of all those Trent engines will provide the bread and butter

When the sellers return, not going to be pretty imo

not a big money spinner but still good for Rolls in terms of maintaining profitability at its US unit:
