As far as I can make out, this is no longer an issue as Ortac do not use the cyanide leaching process any more. But perhaps someone else could confirm that.

Did they fully resolve problem with cyanide leaching or is this no longer a problem now the boundaries have been redrawn ?

The problem in Slovakia is that Ortac are not actually a party in the dispute. So they just have to sit and wait and hope that it will get sorted out. And although there is no longer any logical reason why the permit should be with-held, getting someone to actually sign it and issue it is an entirely different kettle of fish!

Sense will finally prevail in Slovakia.
In the meantime, there are quite a few other developments I expect to be RNS'd in the not so distant future.

Richgit; good post. Just shows there is no logic to the Slovak governing system and judiciary.

I recall Kremnica was explored by Ortac because the licence has previously been a mine. What more bloody precedent do you want! It's not as if they're proposing to rip up virgin green belt so to speak.

I live in a village with 2 decent sized quarries about 1/2 a mile away. Not an issue and pragmatism amongst locals that they create jobs and support local village shops etc.

And if there is anything resembling a positive rns news report, treat it with suspicion that there is a fundraising in the offering....

I am no legal expert,yet if the boundary of the KMLA no longer includes the Town of Kremnica then what can the local anti mine elite now argue against when this amendement suggests an accepted legality that the Mine cannot at any point gradually encroach upon the Town !!

Management suggest that this revision would not affect operations of the mine as the Gold resources lie within the newly agreed boundaries.


Seems they are closer to all arguments being resolved.

One thing is for sure - Once they eventually get the go ahead someone is going
to suddenly appear with the money- one way or another- as it remains FACT that most Major producers are facing a 10 year Vacuum of lost resources,as gold production now starts its decline.


Interesting times ahead.

This is lowly rated and worth a speculation. Wouln't bet my mortgage on it but they
have at least some stated Au reserve

Think we may have picked the right company albeit at the wrong time with this one.

Macro situation looks against us for six months at least.
