This is going to be an even better dividend stock to buy soon as besides the drop in the share price the buy back of shares will now cease.

1. Sportbilly - not intuition - it's just looking back at the patterns. If I had believed my own rhetoric I would have shorted the stock - but didn't have the bottle. It does provide an indication for at what point to enter.

2. spob - why a new thread?

A bad day for my NEXT shares but have only 5% of my portfolio in them which is the maximum I allow in my ISA. Will see if it settles down next week but believe it has good management and a good brand so happy to hold for now. Hindsight traders are not really worth listening to - If you believe in the business which I do and think the management team can do a good job then hold on if not bail out.I am for holding for now.

Toffeeman 2 Mar'16 - 15:53 - 5197 of 5206 0 0

Any gap fillers think it will revisit Jan 2014?

Kendonagasaki 3 Mar'16 - 09:22 - 5198 of 5206 0 0

Resistance at £63.

If that breaks we should see the trend toward £60.
More volatility due in the markets within the next 10 days.
Hold on to your hats!

Toffeeman 3 Mar'16 - 10:20 - 5199 of 5206 0 0

Gap is at 5400?

Kendonagasaki 3 Mar'16 - 18:13 - 5200 of 5206 0 0

If it breaks below £60 this month I'm inclined to agree toffee man!

leedskier - negative outlook. Gone ex growth.

Also no special divis , IMHO free cash, will be spent on shoring up the share price with buybacks.

Hence you will be left with a stock which has gone ex growth with a PEx14 & divi at c2.8% at best.

Quality company but going to be under pressure going forward.

Other than shopping for kids clothes in Next, I have interest here, but why the hammering if sales, profits and dividends are all up?

Outlook for Sales and Profit

(MORE TO FOLLOW) Dow Jones Newswires

March 24, 2016 03:01 ET (07:01 GMT)

We now expect NEXT Brand full price sales growth for the full year to be between -1.0% to +4.0%, with a mid-point of +1.5%. At this stage in the year there is inevitably a high degree of uncertainty and we recognise that there is an upside risk to the numbers if we have a colder winter (the fourth quarter of last year being unusually warm). However at this stage we think it is best to prepare ourselves for what could be a difficult year.

Our sales and profit guidance for the year ahead is shown in the table below.

they are doing 10/20quid discount vouchers which are
a good idea, but why do customers have to give personal details
as date of birth, order on line, friend has to make a purchase,
terms & conditions, online orders-pay in full, on delivery you have state satisfaction of goods
BEFORE discount is given, their customer phone response is very slow
seem short staffed?
mks down over 3% today, need to push some promotions
as john lewis cuts bonuses,

am hoping for a reverse head and shoulders pattern to develop from slightly lower than here or we will be unstuck and I will be out - would certainly look to buy back in as I believe they have good management in place
