In the nine weeks to 28 December, full price sales were up +6.0% versus last year. Full price sales in the third quarter (August - October) were up +7.6% versus last year, performance which was +2.6% ahead of guidance for the quarter of +5.0%. Management believe the strong performance was driven by the early arrival of colder weather this year, versus an unusually warm September and early October last year. However they are now increasing guidance for Q4 full price sales growth by +1.0%, to +3.5%, and combined with the better than expected Q3 performance have allowed management to upgrade sales and profit guidance for the full year......from WealthOracle wealthoracle.co.uk/d |

My only concern after visiting Next - is that although selling good quality their products are not cheap - with much higher mortgages and energy bills clothing etc is not an essential living spend. |
