No, but funnily enough I looked at this for the first time in months yesterday, and nearly convinced myself it was worth a punt. Glad I found some better punts instead.

Looks well positioned to me now that the finances have been improved. I'm sure that will also help them win work - it certainly can't have helped being close to running out of funds whe pitching for new contracts in 2006!

looking at the RNSs since December, they represent holdings (Cobra/Bluehone/Moxon/Legal+GenNominees/Close Bros/FMR Corp/Directors) of 65%. Seem to be quite tightly held still, though the directors holdings (about 2% between them) are not too significant...

I'm still holding and adding (in small amounts)...

I've recently bought some of these now that the medium term future is secured. The buy and fly product still looks to have long term potential, and there is always scope for the promotions business to bounce back with a lower cost base. I think it will take a couple of years to fully reap the rewards, but should be able to get back to a £1 price IF they can get back into profitability. The presentation on their web-site is quite impressive. Basically, this company came seriously off the rails in the last 2 years, primarily due to a cost base being way too high at the same point as the promotions business going through a tough patch. It should be possible to turn this around on a lower cost base and with financial stability. Any thoughts?

It would be more inviting if the spread was not as big as it is.

youre probably right but because the directors put their own money in they wanted a discount - there is no other reason. They should be reported to the FSA but nothing would be done anyway. I got no reply from LDR when I questioned them on why the made such an announcement. I think they know the company is going to turn around and they wanted to line their pockets with a few cheap shares. The mms helped them of course. But in the long term all bodes well for this to be a recovery stock.

that the seller didn't get less than 27p for those 25000 is a good sign. Still find the placing at a bit of a big discount though - if they hadn't of put out that statement when shares were 40p ish then maybe 25-30p placing could've been achieved?

There was a hefty sell of 25,000 that didnt affect the share price I wouldnt be sirprised if the share price gets marked down but if it doesnt then it is a significant indication that things are looking better. If anyone wants my 60,000 or so shares then they can have them at 39 pence. If not then Im holding on whether we go up or down.

Well I was expecting something worse ie placing at 15p or lower. Clearly the Directors think it is a good price to get in and they have persuaded some institutions. I dont think this would have been done if it were not a viable co. I reckon there will be a bounce in the share price in the short to medium term. Good news at last.

LONDON (AFX) - Landround PLC, the AIM-listed travel promotions company, said
it has conditionally placed 8.30 mln new shares at a price of 20 pence each, to
raise approximately 1.66 mln stg before expenses.
The operation is subject to shareholder approval at an EGM on Dec 11.
"In the event that shareholders do not approve the resolutions and the
placing does not proceed, the board will need to consider alternative sources of
funding, which may or may not be forthcoming", Landround commented.
"Without funding the company may become insolvent".
The company said it has has experienced "increasingly difficult market
conditions in its original voucher business" since its admission to AIM, but is
continuing to expand its 'Buy and Fly!' programme.
The travel promotions company said it will also issue 2.77 mln warrants for
new shares to participants in the placing, equivalent to one warrant for every
share bought.
Shareholders at the EGM will also vote on the appointment of Anthony Pope as
finance director.

let's hope for a bit of positive from the company. If there's going to be a placing and the institutions are going to get involved then they'll be looking for a significant discount to the current share price and that may drive the price down. A buy-out would be better in my view.

not easy to stay patient with this one, is it?! If they do need to raise some funds then lets hope they do it soon (and as a consequence make it ripe for takeover)
