Trevor: all such schemes are scams. Don't even think about it.

Just looking in to see what new disaster has hit Landround since I was lucky enough to sell mine. Looks a bit of a basket case now.

I see this one has now hit an all time low as of today. Still think it will go well under 50p on the offer, there is nothing at all to prop it up. The management have destroyed this company, forget the waffle about Red Letter Days going belly up. The company had cash reserves to cover that (devestating though it was), the cash is gone and they'll report a stonking loss this FY. Not a single director sacked for their mistakes and remiss income recognition, just allowed to skip off into the sunset.

It makes you sick for their now long suffering share holders, the new management either turns it around or it goes bust in 07 simple as that, everything rests on the next set of results which are a little way off. Based on that risk ratio these should be much cheaper.

I imagine it'll be worth buying 500 shares just to get the perks soon enough, if they haven't stopped them.

imo, dyor etc.

Trevor1959, This sounds very much like the Henlow Land scheme that was being advertised on ADVFN. This scheme comes from the same stable as Selecta 7 and Goldline (all get rich quick schemes). I think they infer that you are taking out an option on the land and not actually buying it. IMO stay well clear, there is absolutely no guarantee that the land will ever get planning permission or if there is even access to this land across another owners land. If you knew who was behind this scheme you wouldn't even be asking.

As always DYOR etc and good luck.

Sorry to be slightly off topic but wondered if you LDR chaps might have any info on this.

My wife has been investigating various investments for a lump sum she has and one of these is a company that sells parcels of land which currently have no planning permission. The idea is that we buy cheaply now and in say 6 years if/when planning permission is obtained we sell the land for a profit. Now these schemes seem to be promoted by builders who are securing land banks for future development. My main concern here is that the deeds for the land in which we might be investing remain in the builder's name, and that there appears to be no legal right of ownership to the parcels of land.

If there are any posters on this thread with any experiences of such schemes, or any other possible land scams we ought to keep an eye out for I would be glad to hear from you.

Many thanks, and once again, sorry to be off topic.

so is now the time to buy again? - can't help feeling tempted but I think I'll wait for results and - hopefully - get some kind of positive news under the belt first.

I don't agree with your comment Prefab, why would it be sweet justice for the large seller to be the founder. The founder was an amazing man, and if he were still in command, the share price would not be where it is now!

well, in a previous live i used to work here -
what a shame about this company, it always had great potential but it looks like something went wrong (looking at the share price)

PS off-topic, and a completely different sector, but for anyone interested in a company which generates cash as opposed to blue-sky, I think WDNY is worth a look. P/E ratio of 4, a yield of almost 10% at the current price, and massively oversold on the basis on one contract loss (which the management is rectifying).

Not looking pretty. I wonder if this is Fidelity exercising a stop-loss, or something more sinister.

suggest all potential investors and or holders recheck the viability of the current business model especially in light of the growth of low cost airlines and internet booking.

[Statutory warning:- This comment is not intended as a buy or sell recommendation just a suggestion that you DYOR)

Large seller Wanchope, could be institutional or ex-director. Not even remotely tempted, testing all time lows. Keep your money in your pocket for now and let them sweat, I reckon you'll get them maybe 10p cheaper. I really hope the seller is the founder, it would be sweet justice. As always DYOR etc.

Best of luck

yep - like I say, I'm the biggest idiot! Still holding the parcel when the music stopped. However, we have known for a long time how bad the management are and that the business was heading down the pan at an enormous rate. The only reason I'm still holding is that I only bought a small amount at £4.07 and it's now lost almost 80% of it's value - it's really not worth selling, until I maybe need a loss to cash in to offset profits elsewhere. (I never seem to bail out at the right time...need more discipline in my stop-loss department.)

Ho hum... Experience is that marvellous facility that helps you recognise a mistake when you make it again.....

Just read the results, not pretty reading at all. This company always had decent cash reserves, they are gone. Unless trading has improved dramatically they will be anouncing another loss at the full year. Just goes to show that under the wafer thin facade how brittle the business model is, one substantial debtor goes under and it all falls apart (apart from the obvious booking forward of revenues).

This sector needs consolidation and this lot aren't the ones best qualified to do the consolidating. Let it fall lower into the new year and buy in the hope of a takeover, the current trading and assets do not justify a market cap of £5m but may attract a predator with more nounce imo dyor. I'm sure LDR shareholders would like to thank Peter Carter at the time of his retirement for wiping out all profits and 70%+ off the share price since taking the over the reigns.

Anyone got any views on the new director? Presumably brought in to try and give this sad, struggling share a jolt in the arm?
