I think Trump will be ok, am sure he will have the kind of care levels only a president gets.
Like you say, no-one wishes it on anyone else.
Although anti Trump supporters letting off fireworks is a bit bad taste.

It would explain a lot...

Ironically fear over Trumps health may well force a stimulus package through in the US. Which would be good.

stansmith3: He's not even in hospital. Statistically speaking even if old you're not that likely to get it bad (2 in 1000 die of it if over 70 - that is quite low risk). They can give him a good ribbing... I'm sure they will. Let statistics be your friend. This will make viewing figures for Splitting Image even bigger.

it will be seen as extreme bad taste if he gets very unwell or heaven forbid cops it

Trump on Spitting Image should do well - will have some great gags about Trumps covid and the "cures" he attempts to use... The whole point is that its pretty nasty.

My guess, today high NY covid cases, that puts pressure on Republicans to do a stimulus deal with Pelosi, will be done by end of todays closing, and wack markets up, let's see.

Edit: Seems I was optimistic :)

Dow futures rising nicely into the open.

Bodes well for the ftse.

I never said it was a competitor to them. However Amazon already work with Britbox and may see it as a useful acquisition. Netflix already have loads of C4 content and have taken loads of ITV content in the past when ITV has been willing. They pay a fortune for new content as they need more and more to keep their subscribers happy. If they thought amazon had any interest here they’d join the bidding straight away. Britbox is no competitor but it would be a great addition and Netflix couldn’t watch Amazon get it for a steal and risk losing all that content. As I say, maybe unlikely but not impossible.

ITV is not a competitor to Netflix, or Apple and Amazon for that matter. Netflix's budget for programming exceeds ITV's market capitalisation ... Britbox is a niche product that might do very well, targeted at English speaking countries. It's a great added extra to studios ... which I think is the area with the greatest potential for growth.

I agree with you jacko on all counts, 2021 will be a big year for ITV and a lot of UK shares.

Amazon fully aware of Britbox and ITV. Any interest from them would rattle Netflix. Still probably unlikely but if it happens would see 200p.

netcurt...The spike up is good but a lot of it is most likely helped by the William Hill takeover. William Hill is not in the same sector as ITV, but the takeover has shone a spotlight on the UK. The world will catch on fairly soon!

ITV are one of two I place as at least gaining 100% from my stand in average of a shade under 60p. I am long on half a dozen UK household names because I see them as dirt cheap. I am pretty much in deep, but if I had more funds available there are at least another half dozen I would buy.

ITV will never be this cheap again unless something really bad happens like a US meltdown similar to 08, a no virus vaccine for another 6 or more months or Brexit doesn't get a good outcome. The EU will deal, both us and them need it to survive and they know it.

No, it could easily break 70p - just depends on a percent or two after 12 noon...
