04/2/2009 00:41 | This could be good for business where the USA goes the UK follows: "Dedicated electronic warfare specialties will be established for commissioned officers, warrant officers and enlisted soldiers as part of an ongoing effort to make EW a core competency for the active and reserve components. Under plans now being developed, an electronic warfare structure will be established throughout the force, from service component commands down to battalion level, according to a worldwide directive recently issued by the Army". Mass offers: Based upon our unique and extensive expertise in EW, MASS can offer specialist EW training courses specifically targeted on the following areas: Tactics and Countermeasures Development EW Operational Support (EWOS) Our Tactics and Countermeasures Development training is designed to give the student the necessary knowledge and skills to develop effective counters to threat weapon systems. | walker10
28/1/2009 08:29 | HMS Daring, the first of six Type 45 Anti Air Warfare Destroyers in production for the Royal Navy, has been hailed by its creators as the most powerful and advanced vessel of its kind. Nice to see that Cohort had an input: Also nice to see a company actually recruiting and not laying people off that must say something in these times : | walker10

08/1/2009 15:51 | I just wonder if CHRT will benefit from securing the Olympics :- After all they have contacts in very high places:- However, the new figures showed that since that announcement nine months ago the cost of policing London and securing Britain against terrorism during the month-long period of the Olympics had soared to £838 million - a rise of £238 million. That figure does not include the £354 million set aside to protect the Olympic Park during the construction phase. Miss Jowell added: "As the security plan becomes clear the extent of the call on contingency will also become clear. But at this stage we have a budget which is robust and realistic." Government officials refused to disclose what had caused the security bill to jump by so much, but insisted that the extra £238 million, allocated from a £2.7 billion contingency fund, had not caused the overall £9.3 billion budget to rise. | walker10

05/1/2009 12:36 | Oldish artical but gives you an idea:- "Walther says: "The MoD has a budget of £35bn per year. A third of that goes on wages. Up to £7bn goes on procuring ships, tanks and planes. Billions are spent on operational costs. There is probably a budget of £500m a year for research and development." He described the MoD as a "whopping big cheese" and Cohort is a "small mouse nibbling away but trying to grow our share each year". The nibbling is working as it is expected to generate £57m of sales for the year to April 2008. The board owns 36 per cent of the group and employees own a further 12 per cent, giving them a veto on anything other than an agreed approach by third parties. Until that comes it is likely to be a business that continues to grow by providing more and more outsourced services to a shrinking government department". | walker10

22/9/2006 15:20 | Don't know anything about what business Cohort do. Had a quick look at the RNS news regarding Acquisition of MASS. I could not find any evidence that MASS is a growth company -- in the year to 31 March 2006 it made £300k on turnover £11 mil (2005: £500k on £11.2 mil). Margins also seems quite low. Yet CHRT paid a good price for MASS. What really puts off is the statement: "The Directors of Cohort anticipate that the acquisition will be earnings enhancing (before goodwill amortisation) in the first full year of ownership. This statement should not be interpreted to mean that the Company's future earnings per share following the acquisition will necessarily be greater than or equal to the Company's historical earnings per share." Us investors expect such acquisition enhances earning PER SHARE, don't we? | quickmind

Though you can still draw your own lines on it and see if you come to the same conclusion. | yangou
