VERY positive - looks like they are the reference in this sector
& that the Navy approves the product's new version.

Q.: Who else are they allowed to sell it to?
Ha ha, defence systems are kinda sensitive & this might involve an exclusivity clause.

Still, a nice chunky contract & a vote of confidence with possible follow-on sales, so who's complaining?

Edison;
Cohort subsidiary SEA has been awarded a contract by BAE Systems for the supply of its External Communications System (ECS) for the second stage of the common External Communications System (cECS) programme. This reaffirms one of Cohort’s key core competences and further strengthens the group’s long-term outlook. The positive development of the global defence and security spending outlook provides a healthy environment for Cohort’s organic development. Recent share price performance leaves significant upside to our sum of the parts-based fair value of 445p.

Or a clumsily handled sale. I had a limit buy filled at 333p.

Just added. Don't see a reason for the fall. I'm holding long term in a SIPP in any case. I think general market jitters may have caused this - it could be a decent buying opportunity.

Bit of a brutal sell off on no news? Must be something to warrant this? I sold out at 340 on the way up as had been in for a strong rise and thought that was a bit over valued.

Substantial (relative) volume around 2pm. I cannot find any reason. No corporate news due until June. Defence sector is up today

on my watchlist - looks a good company - shares have to drop back before the next rise you know !

Yes, but this is a relatively new company and therefore a long term play (I don't imagine the founders will be looking for an exit before 5 years is up?).
If so the only issue is whether it is currently overvalued or undervalued. Since I am an "outsider" it is unlikely I can judge its prospects effectively (cf FEVR another one that I followed, thought expensive, and entered really late).
Anyway, I shall add to my holding on Monday.

ic is sometimes taken as a contra indicator. as is Questor.

When the news hits the papers its usually too late anyway.

Oh yes, Woodcutter, your cited analyst doesn't seem to talk much about valuation, defence spending and prospects but appears to have gazed lovingly into his crystal balls and concluded that the company is due a profit warning!
I am reminded of the saying that "past performance is no guide to future performance" and anyone who can foretell the future should be rich enough already to not need to work at manipulating stocks for the rest of us.

By the way, I think Christmas is due this month but since we've had so many Christmases with sales on Boxing Day I'm pretty sure we're due for a Boxing Day with price increases this year!

The sell-off today was sparked by Simon Thompson on the IC who recommended top slicing 2/3 of profits since he started initiating at 214p. He does, however, remain bullish on the stock. Personally I think he's talking out of his hat. I think he's crystallising profits after some disastrous tips recently. I'm holding long term.

CHRT 5 year weekly chart and not a profit warning in sight!

You do have to wonder exactly how much research PS actually does on his small caps.

Paul Scott doesn't seem keen, or rather he does but wants to persuade his readers to sell so he can buy on the cheap.

- I'm impressed with these numbers, showing excellent growth. The outlook comments also sound strong. The balance sheet is sound, with net cash.

My main concern is that the shares have already re-rated to take into account the company's good performance, with the shares having almost doubled in the last year. So the big question is whether there's more to go for? Companies like this do tend to have profit warnings every few years, when gaps appear in the order book, so for that reason I wouldn't be happy paying the current price of c.400p for this one.

So we're having a profit warning then, despite winning new contracts!

Sounds a little manipulative to get the share price down maybe. I've mentioned it before, this guy is nothing but opaque.

Accumulate once it's settled

As long as it holds 400p in this dog of a market,
IMO we're safe enough...

On to the next deal & higher fundies...

hmm.. I've never become poor by paying too much for a share. £10 target and take over target on founders exit?
