02/11/2016 08:12 | Today's RNS: Version 4 of the Steel Fuel Cell " has been released to customers on time and on budget, reinforcing the Company's reputation for successfully executing against its technology roadmap. Higher power density and start-up timescales compatible with vehicle applications have been proven, making the platform increasingly commercially attractive in a growing number of markets (see video here: Technology Update) Ceres Power's existing and potential partners will benefit from SteelCell version 4, and with further exciting core technology developments on-going, the Company fully expects further improved iterations of the SteelCell platform to be released going forward. The net electrical efficiencies now being delivered led to an award from the US Department of Energy, which will see Ceres Power working with global power leader, Cummins, in the development of technology for the emergent data centre market (see release here: Ceres & Cummins). Mark Selby, Chief Technology Officer at Ceres Power said: "A year ago Ceres Power committed to delivering SteelCell version 4, and the latest advancements successfully incorporated are testament to the team's ability to execute. The primary objective to reduce manufacturing costs was achieved through removal of over 20% of the processing steps and improved material utilisation. The performance of the platform has been further improved to deliver in excess of 50% net electrical efficiency in prime power applications. Performance through 1000s of rapid hot/cold cycles has also been confirmed, to the point that compatibility with vehicle and genset applications is being demonstrated." excellent news: 1) version suitable for vehicle applications 2) "an award from the US Department of Energy," 3)" reduce(d) manufacturing costs.... achieved through removal of over 20% of the processing steps and improved material utilisation" 4)performance of the platform ... further improved to deliver in excess of 50% net electrical efficiency in prime power applications No mention of any successful developments jointly with Honda or Nissan but powerful remarks on the association with global giant Cummings. Ceres' long arduous development concentrating on perfecting a very low cost, basic steel cell, to avoid the disadvantages of the more general ceramic approach, seems to be pulling ahead of the global fuel cell pack in developing the technology and may become the generic licensing solution for the process. If so this has gigantic implications not remotely in the price at present. | scrutable
27/10/2016 18:44 | P/O No longer fully true since sterling Brexited down nearly 20% to EU1.12 to the £1.00, making Horsham very competitive. Not that that is likely to be decisive since I imagine that a volume car maker would end up producing the FC under licence. I wonder why there has been no public comment on the type of FC used in the Honda Clarity FCX model, (FC fitted below the floor and probably fitted in japan). Several of these are on the road in California near H2 filling stations since selectively made available for $600/month in 2014. Plenty of people will have seen the FC at close quarters At the NY motor show this year Honda showcased an upgrade concept with an extraordinary max range of 435 miles in substantial improvement over the Toyota Mirai's 300, THe FC was more elegantly and safely placed under the bonnet. I hope we will get some hint of Honda's choice of FC from CWR's FY results due Tuesday 8 Nov or at least a month later at the AGM, which has always included a tour of the Horsham works see also target='window'>h target='window'>h | scrutable
14/10/2016 12:54 | Manufacturing their own stuff was the big strategic error imv. Doing that in one of the most expensive parts of the uk is just unbelievable. | pierre oreilly

28/9/2016 14:29 | Quite agree. Fundraise should come as no surprise to anyone. Hoping to pick up a few more at about the 8.75 level, although that looks a bit unlikely at the moment..... | nivison
28/9/2016 14:17 | Inevitable but I too expect the share price to hold firm about the 8.75p mark or better. The IIs must see/know that the next 12 months should see good traction in terms of finalising development of Products with different Partners for exploitation of the various Markets. If the share price drops down to about 8.75p in the near future I'm going to get some more... in for a Penny, in for quite a few £s | pottermagic2310
28/9/2016 13:34 | We have known about the need for this equity raise for over a year. Top bad no open offer for existing holders especially as they had all the time in the world and somehow I do not see the price falling below the equity raise price | cerrito

28/9/2016 12:38 | Good news on balance though, I reckon. A bit of a disappointment since it looked set to rise, but the money is needed. The rise could very well restart. | gnnmartin

19/9/2016 21:36 | CE's Statement Feb 2016 "Looking forward, our V4 release to customers is on track for mid-2016 and serves two primary purposes: preparing the technology for scale-up, as well as improving performance and reducing cost further." Why no news it is now Sept? | smokey 1o3
19/9/2016 14:44 | FC companies have never made a profit, non of them so far...they live on grants and subsidies. When will they actually take off, these caught my attention after receiving another EU funding.. Are there any other trials going on in EU? or are CWR first to market in home generation FC... Many have come and gone CFU, acta, | beeezzz
19/9/2016 14:14 | I would be surprised if they get the talented person they are advertising for at £40-47k/pa!!! I realise that they are very short of cash. At the end of last year they had not more than eighteen months of cash burn - unless they have earned some hefty undisclosed licence fees in between. Actually, I think that the competitive position of the Ceres steel cell is extremely strong, and might well be best-0f-breed. Since the japanese have I think installed more fuel cells than anyone else, the emergence of a Honda car, together with the Nissan joint venture and Korean KD Navien boiler suggest a bright future for CWR. | scrutable
