18/9/2016 18:30 | Taken from the ITM board. The Ride: A spin the Honda's new fuel cell-powered sedan by Take Two September 16, 01:51 AM The 2017 Honda Clarity is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell and has a range of over 300 miles. AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. An electric car that has a 300 mile range, and never needs to be charged? Later this year, Honda will begin selling its new generation Clarity. It's a roomy, well-appointed four-door sedan with a difference. Its electric motor is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. Our motor critic and host of The Ride, Sue Carpenter, took a spin in a pre-production model, and found it to be appealing in both looks and performance. Honda says the Clarity will sell for less than $60,000 and lease for about $500 a month, which sets it up squarely against Toyota's fuel cell car, the Mirai. Both cars have an advantage over battery powered electrics. Rather than waiting for the batteries to charge, fuel cell vehicles are filled with hydrogen in an operation that's familiar and takes about the same amount of time as a gas fill-up does. .................... . Is this the CWR steel cell that Honda is using? | scrutable
07/9/2016 23:12 | There was a previous trial with British Gas some years ago but this ran into degradation difficulties that have since been resolved. This sounds really positive. | smokey 1o3
07/9/2016 22:04 | Edison have put out a one pager with additional colour contains the following which surprised me as I thought CWR were doing this some time ago quote During calendar Q416, Ceres will deliver 10 prototype power systems to British Gas for deployment in homes and at British Gas sites. These will be used in the final phase of the EU ene-field fuel cell residential programme. The trial is the first of its kind in UK homes and will run for a year. | cerrito
06/9/2016 13:27 | well at least something is happening. Ceres is now working with Honda, Nissan, Cummings and British Gas. Not a bad CV. If a full commercial relationship is established with any of these large companies then things will move fast. Thats the beauty of licensing a product. I am already holding some here and will possibly take some more on any fund raising if I get the opportunity. | nivison
06/9/2016 12:45 | The ene.field project is co-funded by the European Commission's Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH-JU) and brings together 26 partners, among whom are the 9 European manufactures which will make the products available across 11 European countries. So 9 Competitors. | smokey 1o3
06/9/2016 11:17 | Good points Cerrito. Definitely going to have to continue to sit this out... again | pottermagic2310
06/9/2016 11:01 | Yes angus17 you are right that there is deja vu here-doing home trials with British Gas as if we were back in 2011- that having been said there is a much more solid feel about things now. First time I can remember them getting EU funding. The way I read the announcement was that there are 26 companies in the EU with similar products-if that is right competition is more of an issue than I had thought. Not buying at this time- partially in the naive belief that if they are going to do an equity raise at a discount to the market price, retail shareholders will have a look in. | cerrito
06/9/2016 10:56 | This is a whole different 'ball game' this time surely... no longer little Ceres conducting its own limited Trials, imo. Being part of a European-wide Trial with multiple Partners is surely a better way to gain traction with this particular target Market and its Industry's key players. | pottermagic2310
06/9/2016 08:13 | markets getting fed up with more trials. All about selling products now please. Come on CWR you have had the time to develop. | angus17
05/9/2016 10:45 | I've dipped in and out but starting to think seriously about these guys now. Equity raise would probably be around 7-8p at these levels at a guess, perhaps wait for the raise before going in? | royfox
02/9/2016 12:04 | Going to have to remain +ve (again), see what unfolds and maybe average down some more at an appropriate time. Been into Ceres for many, many years now, never made a 'penny' but still think this could gain significant traction with various National, Global and Energy/Utility/Power Sectors' strategies beginning to unfold at long last. | pottermagic2310
02/9/2016 00:17 | Edison June 2015 Management expects the July 2014 placing to provide funding well into 2016. In the absence of any one-off licence payments, which we treat as upside, our estimates show a £4.3m funding gap in FY17, which we model as satisfied through debt. | smokey 1o3
01/9/2016 21:29 | Blimey ! That's a long, long time ago. Just going to have to sit things out yet again and see exactly what unfolds this Autumn :-( | pottermagic2310
01/9/2016 20:48 | From the interim statement for the half year to Dec 31 15, pottermagic2310 quote The Company ends the period with £12.8m in cash and cash equivalents and short-term investments (2014: £22.7m) and we have a good expectation of raising further funding before the end of 2016, which is required in order to continue our activities and to fund the growing opportunity we see in the higher power markets, and supplements income from customers and government grants. unquote | cerrito
01/9/2016 11:44 | Equity raise ? When ? How much ? | pottermagic2310
01/9/2016 11:01 | For me very good news to get this going in the US and credit to their new man in the US Tony Cochrane and UK Management. SP reaction to this news will be conditioned by the upcoming equity raise but obviously the higher the price all the better. | cerrito
01/9/2016 10:52 | 10p !!! It's been 2 years since the share price hit these dizzy heights !! | pottermagic2310

01/9/2016 07:13 | RNS Number : 6274I Ceres Power Holdings plc 01 September 2016 Ceres Power Holdings plc ("Ceres Power" or "the Company") 1 September 2016 This announcement contains inside information CERES POWER AND CUMMINS WIN US DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AWARD TO DEVELOP FUEL CELL POWER SYSTEMS FOR DATA CENTRES COLLABORATION FOCUSED ON DELIVERING SIGNiFICANT COST SAVINGS AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVeMENts Ceres Power Holdings plc (AIM:CWR) is pleased to announce its key development role in a recently selected US Department of Energy ("DOE") programme awarded to Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) ("Cummins"). Ceres Power will benefit from up to US$2.6m of the total US$4.9m project, which includes contributions from Cummins, US DOE and other parties, subject to final contract. Ceres Power and Cummins will develop a novel 5kW Solid Oxide Fuel Cell ("SOFC") modular system targeting high electrical efficiency (60 percent) and scalable to meet multiple distributed power applications up to 100kW. The initial target application will be the data centre market; however, wider applicability to other markets such as commercial combined heat and power will also be considered. Ceres Power's unique Steel Cell offers greatly enhanced robustness to real-world operating conditions at a lower cost than conventional SOFC designs, as well as being fuel flexible, highly efficient and with lower emissions. If successfully implemented into data centres, the Steel Cell will enable data centre operators to cut current overall costs by more than 20 percent and reduce their carbon footprint by up to 49 percent. It has the potential to reduce world energy use significantly as data centres currently consume nearly two percent of the world's electrical power. The award is under the US DOE Funding Opportunity Announcement DE-FOA-0001469 titled "Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Innovative Concepts and Core Technology." Ceres Power and Cummins will work closely with its consortium partners, University of Connecticut ("UConn") and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory ("PNNL"), one of the US DOE's national laboratories, to test the system to validate its feasibility in the target applications. Phil Caldwell, Ceres Power's Chief Executive Officer said: "This is a very exciting opportunity for Ceres Power to work with Cummins and the US DOE to address the rapidly growing market for cleaner distributed power for data centres and other commercial applications and strengthens our relationships in North America, a key market for our Steel Cell technology" Wayne Eckerle, Cummins VP - Corporate Research and Technology said: "We are looking forward to working with Ceres Power, UConn, and PNNL to develop and ultimately commercialize this technology that can reduce costs for data centers and other potential customers while helping improve our environment. This is another example of technological collaboration that is a win for our companies, a win for our customers and a win for the environment. | fredd
29/6/2016 19:12 | Thanks for posting that jambo192. One complication that CWR has avoided is that it is not involved in EU funding which may complicate things for ITM if as and when we finally leave the EU Not sure how much we have learnt since March statement but v good to know that Nissan prepared to be named so it must be serious. Never heard of M-Solv details here-www.m-solv.com | cerrito

07/6/2016 16:01 | I'm sure I've held some Shares in Ceres since as far back as about 2007 !!! That'll make 10 years next year... yikes !! Sensing I may need to take a 3rd punt at these, should a nice opportunity to average down present itself from this Summer onwards. | pottermagic2310 |
