Great pic :-)From that longer chart, it appears that the rises last about 6 years each time. We might have another year or so left and then it's timmmmmmber again lol.Would have liked to have got some at circa 50p!

Trump is a hardened businessman , suspect he will want to grind the margins , especially of foreign imports. But can you really trust anything he says about anything?

The world’s third-largest defence contractor BAE Systems inched up 3p to 618p on Trump’s plan to propose a substantial increase in public safety spending. Over a third of BAE’s sales come from the US. Just last week, the FTSE 100 company said it expects an earnings boost from the US defence budget.

BAE Systems chief Ian King to step down in the summer.....

The management shake-up comes a day before BAE posts its annual results, which are expected to show the company has turned a corner after several years of uncertainty caused by constrained military spending. Revenues are forecast to have grown by 4pc to £18.7bn, with pre-tax profits more than 10pc higher at at £1.23bn.

The company has had a good year. Major programmes have moved ahead including work starting on the massive Dreadnought nuclear submarine programme, a ramp-up in production of F-35 fighter jets and confirmation of the new generation of Type 26 frigates.
