dafrog. Beg to differ, with China to the north and no chance of closing that route I dont think they need to worry too much about supplies from that direction. Also, can you imagine the outcry from non participants?

North korea may have weapons but they have limited food. Logistic tail not much use without supplies. They would not last long.

It often seems pretty subjective to me why prices move ; FOREX rates , interest rate change rumours, contract rumours , multiple Government policy changes , Middle East Crises to name a few . Hard to know if that particular review is significant ; is there more information about today than a month ago? If not why should that logically change the price ?
Just saying...

Its called force projection, to protect and better the interests of the state, to allow the country to prosper, to generate and protect trade, to pay the taxes, to grow the economy ..... that pays for social housing of the future. Hopefully, better housing than those poor people had.

BAE Systems lands multi-billion pound deal for Royal Navy frigates

BAE Systems and the Ministry of Defence have signed a long-awaited multi-billion pound deal to build the first three of eight new frigates for the Royal Navy, securing thousands of British shipyard jobs.

The agreement to start work on the new Type 26 combat ships is one of the biggest UK defence deals in years and will guarantee work at BAE’s Scottish shipyards and across its supply chain for years.

Construction is expected to start on the 6,900-tonne ships next month, with steel beginning to be cut for the vessels at a ceremony in Scotland. So far the Government has committed a total of £4.7bn to the Type 26 programme – which is expected to last until 2035 – on design work, equipment with long order lead times and development of weapons for the ships.

Sharecast:

Going the other way, BAE Systems retreated as JPMorgan Cazenove cut the stock to 'neutral' from 'overweight' and removed it from its Analyst Focus List, mostly on valuation grounds. "The main reason is valuation after a circa 40% rally in the shares since January 4, 2016."
