19/7/2017 13:08 | From the FT yesterday: "Lockheed said it had delivered 229 F-35s since the first aircraft rolled off the production line in 2011. The company has indicative orders for just under 3,200 aircraft from its 12 countries, although as with most large defence programmes those numbers are susceptible to spending cuts." 16/7/2017 10:51 | OK. Fair enough. Personally I would still regard their pension scheme contributions as one of the risks to watch closely. Although current conditions have always been seen as transient they have now been around for a very long time and look like staying for longer. | minerve
15/7/2017 17:42 | Not complacent Minerve, more 'comfortable with my understanding'. | squidsgone
14/7/2017 21:27 | squidsgone 14 Jul '17 "... and agreements on funding with the pension actuaries will take timing of probable interest rate increases into consideration" Of course. And will conclude the same as every other set of trustees, actuaries, executives and so on that something _might_ need to give. BAE are not unique in this regard. You seem a little too complacent if I may be so bold. | minerve

14/7/2017 12:59 | Some analysts predicting no interest rate increase - in the UK - until mid-2019 at the earliest! US oil production increasing rapidly fuelling ramp-up in exports over the next few years - very deflationary. Pension fund issues are still very much here to stay regardless of recent commodity inflation and UK currency driven inflation. | minerve
14/7/2017 12:53 | Any uk base rate move upwards will take a chunk away from the pension 'accounting' deficit - it is based on how much it will cost to buy annuities to discharge current obligations, and annuities are at an all time low | squidsgone

12/7/2017 14:29 | not sure why the recent weakness, however share price seems to be still within uptrend channel - just. I will be looking to get back into these as soon as one of my other (more speculative) punts comes good. these have to be worth at least 700p | backmarker
