Good morning bracke,

Glad to hear that you have survived Xmas, and come back with renewed enthusiasm!

I think that this year might be a year of opportunities, and as you say a very 'interesting' year. My own instinct is to keep my powder dry, and await the inevitable market dips.

In any event, good luck with your new refined trading method!

Good day 2flat

No change in methodology but I am aware of sentiment and overall direction of market momentum.

I do agree that moves on low volume can be misleading especially if the move is a large one but that is not the case with the share price

I was a little surprised when I looked at the share price this morning. Given the fall in the £/$ I had expected the share price to have moved above 1600, somewhat odd that it didn't.

Good day ian

Being an advocate of the 'bah humbug' form of Christmas the bracke household does not indulge in seasonal excesses. However advantage was taken to review, reconsider and revise my trading method.

I am now back in harness with some moderate trading.

Considering Brexit, Trump and European General Elections, 2017 promises to be a very 'interesting' year.

Thanks for your reply.
Hard as I try without your explanation I looked but could not see.
Do I note a change in your methodology , correct me if I am wrong but its the first time I can remember you citing brokers forecast's.
I am always nervous with moves on low volume.
If it move higher on low volume I will look to short at any sign of peaking duck.
Again thank for your ideas.
I've had my end of year look back and can report my best year ever.
Good luck for the New Year to all Holders and some shorter's.
Cheers

I know its sad but i kept my own spreadsheet as they were making the purchases.

Shares bought back - 4118250
Outlay -£47,583,022.69
Remaining - £152,416,977.31
Highest price paid £13.50 on 13th & 14th Oct.

I think they also mentioned how much they'ed spent in the half year result webcast last month.

If they don't up the price they're willing to pay and the share price fails to drop to the £13.50 range they may redistribute the £150M as a special dividend.

Whatever happens its a good time to be a holder of AHT.

DD4 & dcarn,

Thanks guys, good to see our war chest is largely intact! Hopefully the threat of more buybacks might also be a deterrent to some of the players...

Good day bracke

I trust you have now recovered from the seasonal excesses in the bracke household, and are now ready to knuckle down again to some serious 'elite guru' prognoses again :)

You views in 53092 are interesting thanks, looks like January will be a pivotal month!

In the meantime, I assume that AHT are standing by with more share buybacks, if there is a need to steady the ship!

Good day 2flat

I think you will agree that s/r is 1600.

I agree that the volume is low....half of the daily average but the pattern is a rectangle top or you may argue it is an ascending wedge. Either way there is pressure to the upside particularly given the previous price action and broker forecasts for the share price

You will note that over the last four trading days the share price is being held in a tight range with minimal movement to the downside. If the intraday high of 1654 is 'it' I would expect a fall, which it did, followed by a retrace up and then continued fall, this it has not done. It would be surprising if it did not make at least one more attempt at testing 1654.

I accept that nothing is certain but given this share and the current market I still hold to the probability of a push up.

Could you point out where you see this head of steam as I can only see a sideways move on lowish volume.
Cheers

The share price is building a head of steam at 1600. When it 'blows' it is likely to be with a bang. A 50 point rise would not be out of the ordinary and then possibly a retest after the 20th.

Shame on you Sam66, you can never have too many toys!!! Still reeling from selling up and going short on the day Trump became president elect. Can't believe Aht is up at 1600. Really hoping for a 20% lull prior to Summer so I can get back in it hour too much pain. Trump and Brexit throttled what would have been a decent year for me.
Cest la vie!

You must have sufficient AHT profits to buy a couple of them.
