22/12/2016 12:29 | Good day 2flat I don't know what came over me with that last comment, must have been too much Christmas Cheer. I do not discount buying some or at least taking a long trade but not at the current level. I would consider doing so following a proper pullback. | bracke
22/12/2016 12:05 | What!! This can't be bracke. I think he's been cloned or is it clowned. Cheers | 2flatpack
22/12/2016 11:49 | Good day rescuer Nice to read from you especially as you do not group me with the 'old farts', some would say that you are mistaken! AHT has proved to be a truly fantastic share for those who have held, unfortunately I didn't. I still hope to make some money from it one day, it's become a personal thing between it and me. If Trumpie spends the sort of money he says he will on US infrastructure I may have to buy some AHT shares myself. What a thought! | bracke
22/12/2016 09:14 | thank you Nick, not had contact with Hatto for around 8 or 9 years. I'm off to NZ on 27th and was hoping that someone may know where Swalf is. Had a night out with him and Barty in Edinburgh many years ago, was a good night. if anyone know where Swalf is in NZ i'd make the effort to visit - any help appreciated. thank you glenn | rescuer
22/12/2016 08:26 | Still around Rescuer...hope you and your family are well. I am full invested elswhere and have the odd long or short trade here or on URI. Needless to say if I currently owned the same number of AHT shares now that I had then, I would be retired. | lairddavid
22/12/2016 08:21 | rescuer, I think swalf disappeared off the scene and went to New Zealand to run a restaurant. I was around in the 3p days reading you guys and you saying how this price was so cheap. I think you worked at AHT or something didn't you? I thought you were good mates with Hatto. Nick | brancho
22/12/2016 00:32 | well 15 years or so ago when these were 3p - many good nights were had and loads of superb craic - lots of folk have been here quite sometime - what happened to the longer term traders - would love to know Hatto McInvest Bartyboy Swalf Canford Cliffs Robodol TTNY LairdDavid what ever happend to Swalf ? hope you are all well and have a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Bracke - I've never put you with the Old Farts, but you have kept this thread going well - best weishes glenn | rescuer
21/12/2016 17:33 | Not a bad day, it appears our share price showed resilience, with above average volume. A strong finish, and URI is up an encouraging 0.8% at the moment. | ianwwwhite
21/12/2016 13:35 | Good day 2flat If Trumpie delivers on his promises your 1900 is a fair probability but I would still expect a drawback to at least the Daily SMA50. If he fails to deliver on his promises then a larger drop. Whichever way it goes 2017 should be an interesting year. Looking at the price action this morning with the opening spike suggests a little shenanigans. Was it a genuine attempt to move it back above 1600? I don't think so. "I note the advert is for size PLUS is that the costume or the cod piece? Cheers" ==================== Modest forbids. | bracke
21/12/2016 13:14 | Credit Suisse raises tp from 1150 to 1520.....a 32% uplift or error, call it what you want!.DD | discodave4
21/12/2016 10:21 | bracke I note the advert is for size PLUS is that the costume or the cod piece? Cheers | 2flatpack
21/12/2016 10:14 | morning bracke I see 1550 as the base because there is a large buy back schema in place. One of the board feel the share price is so low it is a good investment. I feel the board are like minded so I would think at this level the finger is on the trigger . I would also point out that the share price broke above a long term trend line 21 Nov 16 which it has been below from 13 July 2015 . I feel the old trajectory is reinstated . Hence I predict a share price of 1900 in 12 months . As always I live in hope. Cheers | 2flatpack
21/12/2016 00:49 | bracke I note we are well past wine o' clock so I'm inclined to let this one pass without comment.... lol! | ianwwwhite
20/12/2016 18:49 | Just for the record this is mine. A little on the pricey side but just the ticket when I'm in shorting mode. I particularly like the electronic cod piece. | bracke
20/12/2016 18:44 | bracke lol!!! | ianwwwhite
20/12/2016 18:27 | "Oh dear! I fear you are confusing technical analysis with sentiment (lol!)" ==================== Ah! I understand. It's not a 'proper' base but a 'pretend' one. Metaphorical one might say. Director buying isn't always what it seems. "Infinity and beyond springs to mind ...." ==================== I trust you were wearing your Buzz Lightyear uniform when you typed the above. Just in case...... | bracke
20/12/2016 18:06 | bracke re 2flats post: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If this is the base where is the top? What level is the base 1600, 1500? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh dear! I fear you are confusing technical analysis with sentiment (lol!) The non-exec directors buy at 1559 may not be a base in technical terms, but to investment fundamentalists such as myself it provides a measure of reassurance! AS to the top? Infinity and beyond springs to mind .... | ianwwwhite
20/12/2016 17:27 | ian "The nub of the question is whether some analysts estimates are attempting to predict, or to influence future share prices." ==================== My understanding is that it should be 'predict' but......you pay your money and take your choice. 2flat If this is the base where is the top? What level is the base 1600, 1500? A base suggests that future moves will be up. It is due a visit to its higher SMAs' which means as a minimum 1400. Is this still the base? | bracke
20/12/2016 16:51 | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ re RNS Ashtead Group plc announces that on the 20th December 2016, Lucinda Riches purchased 5,000 ordinary 10p shares in the Company with a purchase price of £15.59 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Always good to see a non-exec with skin in the game, that's the sort of steer I like! | ianwwwhite
20/12/2016 16:32 | Director bought at £15.59 bodes well. | kilgallp
20/12/2016 16:11 | Message from the directors this is the base or that's how I see it . Cheers | 2flatpack
20/12/2016 16:04 | Hi bracke, My question (which is probably rhetorical) is more about the objectivity of some of the wilder broker forecasts...I understand that once a significant share price move has been started, irrespective of direction the move may be amplified by the 'me too traders' joining in. The nub of the question is whether some analysts estimates are attempting to predict, or to influence future share prices. | ianwwwhite
20/12/2016 14:55 | Good day ian In short 'Volatility' the market loves it. Without it minimum business. Those who were short made money and those who were long to-day make money. The market does not need an excuse to move an share price but when there is one why not take full advantage of it. | bracke
20/12/2016 12:35 | URI closed yesterday +0.53%. Yesterday's fall was the largest single day fall for at least a year. The interesting part now follows; the recovery or not. Crucial is 1500. A pierce of 1500 will have alarm bells ringing, a close below it will have the lifeboats being prepared. I suspect it would take considerable effort by the bears to take the share price below 1500. The bulls would not give up support easily plus the company have cash available to continue the buyback. Whether there is sufficient buying to take it back above 1600 I doubt. Perhaps a partial retrace back up to 1570/75 and then sideways. | bracke |
