christh refer to QP's post 7157 and RCTurners preceding post if you are genuinely interested in the answer.

I also follow this thread because I find it informative despite having no current position in APF.

I can understand why you would find it irritable if you are losing money as a holder but dont automatically assume the motivation for posting negative viewpoints automatically means they have vested interest in trashing your investment for personal gain either monetary or ego.

QP,
why are you wasting your time here if you do not hold any shares?

What do you intend to gain by posting here since you do not hold no shares?
You must be a very weird person posting stuff where you have no immediate interest.

But of course, you do not hold any shares because you are shorting the stock!

I already answered the question several times. See 7203 and 7150 for example. Can you not comprehend that? - This is old ground.

Now, come on. Be a man and respond to the following question:

Have you been saying this share would go up for the last three years and has it?

You are referred to post 7150.

We have been over all this before. You have even commented in your normal obtuse and base fashion about having an academic interest in a share. Do you not recall?

Who said I follow the CE? Who said I believe in ethical investing?

You miss the point yet again. You just don't get it, do you?

Are you able to grasp the concept of objective discussion?

This is a topic which the august FT thinks is important and significant enough to write about on its front pages.

The point is that growing numbers of important investors increasingly believe in ethical investing. Some big investors now weigh Green factors such as climate change into their investment criteria and decisions. That's a big and growing change in investment patterns.

A lot of important investors like the Rockefeller foundation have already pulled out of coal-related investing on ethical grounds. And if The Church is now also doing this, it is bad news for sector as increasing numbers of institutional investors will avoid investing in coal-related securities which will in turn weaken demand for equities in this field.

QP,
if you follow the CE why are you here then?

If you believe in ethical investments and on and on, why on earth you are
following APF?
Double principles, hypocricy?

You'd better take up the issue with Justin Welby and The Pope.

But if you think that The Church of England acting on matters of ethical investing is irrelevant, that probably tops the growing list of your increasingly ludicrous and erroneous statements.

I guess you don't read serious newspapers like The FT or have any real understanding of the importance of Green issues.

Just to drive the point home:

Not only is the Church of England now against coal related investments but the FT suggests the likelihood of The Vatican and Pope Francis issuing an encyclical letter in June that will urge their communities to consider the risks of climate change.

However, today's FT article continues with the following:

"The Church, which has an investment portfolio valued at more than £9bn, will no longer put its money into any company that gets more than 10% of its revenues from extracting coal burnt for energy or oil from tar sands. This means that it may retain shares in companies such as BHP Billiton, which mines coal but which earns a large chunk of revenues from iron ore, copper, and aluminium, said Edward Mason, the Church's head of responsible investment. But companies that focus on coal mining, such as Peabody in the US, would be excluded". "

The Green lobbies are certainly in ascendancy and are now influencing some very powerful and important investors who in turn will be spreading the word.

"seeking to make fossil fuels as unpopular as tobacco."

I would only point out that tobacco companies have been great investments in the last 20 years for those willing to hold them (not me, but the point stands.

Heading of article on Front Page of today's FT is titled:-

"C of E to sell coal and tar sands stakes in victory fight to demonise fossil fuels."

The article continues

"The Church of England, one of the wealthiest religious institutions, has decided to blacklist coal and tar sands investments, in a striking victory for campaigners seeking to make fossil fuels as unpopular as tobacco."

That will be noticed and influential in ethical investor circles.

The Company lost - what was it?- £47million last year.

That any bonuses are tabled in the first place is astounding.

Management should do the right thing and not take/expect any bonuses when the Company they manage performed so dismally and when so much shareholder value was lost.

Shareholders lose value but management receive bonuses. Doesn't sound right to me.

At today's AGM the Chief Executive Officer announced to shareholders the receipt of a maiden royalty payment from both the Narrabri and Maracás royalties. The receipt of the maiden royalty payments increases the number of producing royalties within the Anglo Pacific portfolio and provides further cash flow diversification.

Resolution 2 received a proxy vote of 73% in favour; however there were a number of votes against the resolution and consequently the Company will contact the relevant institutional investors to better understand their concerns, as a priority. Following receipt of feedback, the Company will consider implementing any relevant suggestions into next year's Remuneration Report, particularly regarding expanding the description of bonus criteria.
