On Oddschecker, the odds on June and July for the election are rapidly shortening - lots of rumours flying around. I've just checked Laddies and they are still using Dec.12 on their website. There is also the little matter that Hunt wants an Autumn Statement, presumably so that he can use money from selling NatWest shares to bribe voters!

We live in interesting times.

In relation to last May's off-market, the RNS said:

The purchased Ordinary Shares represent 4.95 per cent of the Company's issued Ordinary Share capital (excluding treasury shares).

Therefore, 15% is three times as much of the issued Ordinary. That would leave about 13% with HMT, after today's RNS.

ADD: 15% of 8.723bn is around 1.3bn, so the cost would be approaching £4bn or so.

is it 15% of whats left or 15% of the whole originaly issued shares
as if its 15% of the 30% outstanding then that's 4.5% reducing it to 25% outstanding, which is it ?

would we end up with 15% outstanding or 25% outstanding after a 15% buy back ?

Impairments, a closely watched measure of loan losses, were £93m - much better than the £186m forecast by analysts.

However, the figure was better than the £1.2bn forecast by analysts, and the bank's chief executive described the results overall as "strong".

If you look at the L/T chart above, last February the high was 313.10. It is a very important level. If the share price goes above 313.10, it will be a new high since 2018. Bullish price action.

Keep an eye on it!
