Need to punch through that 200 day average.

Last time there was a directed buy back it was May last year. Assuming the government want value I'm hoping we see price appreciation from here.

Interesting day - LLOY had an excellent day, rising over 6% on the back of its "robust" Results, but NWG sold off in its closing auction by 1.7p, which is a pretty sharp move for their auction. Maybe Hunt continues to twist HMT's arm, with the Budget so close ??

LLOYDS results tomorrow morning. Final of 1.84 expected, twice the interim, for a total of 2.76, plus another buyback of £2bn, as last year, perhaps a little more.

Real value here. Already one of my best performersI've no doubt it's been manipulated and held back so as to be able to tempt Sid.

NatWest Group's
NWG
guidance for 2024 is below consensus and "highly conservative," given markets' current rate cut pricing for the UK, Berenberg analysts said Monday.

The British lender expects income, excluding notable items, to reach 13 billion pounds sterling to 13.5 billion pounds in 2024. The group's forecast reflects a Bank of England interest rate of 400 basis points by end-2024, lower than market estimates by 40 bps. Based on market-implied interest rate projections, Natwest's revenue outlook could increase by an additional 400 million pounds. Berenberg estimates 13.8 billion pounds.

As the BoE begins cutting rates, analysts expect NatWest Group's net interest income to stabilize and increase by mid-2024, supported by the company's reinvestment of hedge assets. Berenberg believes that the company will be able to offset the negative impact of lower interest rates through higher margins on new mortgage lending and modest loan growth.

Berenberg reiterated its buy rating on the stock.

Another TR-1, this time only two weeks gap and 123m. Time for another one before the budget; in fact, HMT may largely be responsible for today's decline from 231p.

The percentage of voting rights held by HMT in NatWest Group plc (NWG), as shown on this form (33.56%), has been calculated following the disposal by HMT of 122,762,277 ordinary shares in NWG since its last TR-1 notification on 5 February 2024.

Another year of NatWest best annual profits since the global financial crisis
The UK's third largest mortgage lender said it assumed the Bank of England will bring interest rates to 4% by the end of this year and 3% by the close of 2025.

Cheers not even a 10% reduction (Lloyd's). Pathetic (as thought). Guess the % reduction for NatWest will slow now there's only 300 M for buybacks but every little helps. Still makes since I guess at these absurd levels.

I'm pretty sure they will do a directed buy back as well. Consensus suggests it won't be as big as last year though.
