04/5/2023 14:51 | Nice little tick up on relatively low volume, would be nice to get back into the 30's, long may the buying interest continue! | gbenson1
04/5/2023 14:18 | Stock looking reasonably tight at the moment....... | chrisdgb
28/4/2023 09:13 | UK interest rates likely to be higher for longer than people think, will be a massive help for wcw............. | chrisdgb
23/4/2023 07:59 | There's an interesting article in the FT this morning which may be worth a look. Although it's behind a paywall you should be able to read it if you type the following into Google: "Wealth management consolidation leaves smaller groups on borrowed time" I guess we can but hope! | arthur_lame_stocks
13/4/2023 17:02 | You are spot on which is why wcw should be acquired by a third party. Significant opportunities to deliver value upside which the current board have no interest in doing unfortunately. The only reason I hold is for a takeover. I have no faith in the current team to deliver any value growth organically. | baddeal
12/4/2023 10:12 | Now looking at Ebor pension trustees. This co ties up £400k in regulatory capital but makes £23k (up from £8k) on £600k of turnover. You cant afford to make such a low return in such a high risk, capital intensive business. edit, and essentially makes nothing when you take into account the central costs to oversee the business units | davydoo
12/4/2023 09:32 | Just been reading the accounts of the WCIM subsidiary, or what is essentially most of the group It's mind bending. I hadn't realised how many people were self employed. 39! who received commissions of over £9m last year. £225k each No wonder the parent co makes no money | davydoo
06/4/2023 09:27 | The CEO seems to want it to become a technology company, which seems a complete distraction from their core competency | davydoo
04/4/2023 11:23 | This is worth 60p easily in my book, but it's a fairly comfortable existence for the Lims and - as you say chrisdgb - how determined are they, really, to see shareholder value extracted? OTOH, the upside to their holding is that any bid would have to come at a hefty premium. | boystown
04/4/2023 11:06 | Maybe we need to instigate some kind of campaign, do the directors care...?? | chrisdgb
04/4/2023 10:50 | The sum of the parts value here is much larger. They paid about half their current market cap just for Barker Poland | davydoo
04/4/2023 07:58 | Investec/Rathbones wealth merger this morning, similar multiple would be 138p here............!!!! | chrisdgb
31/3/2023 15:37 | By the way a 170% premium here would be disappointing needs to be 300% to be realistic...... | chrisdgb
31/3/2023 15:27 | I take heart that one of my small caps received a 170% premium takeover today, let us hope the directors of Walker Crips are interested in delivering shareholder value...... | chrisdgb
30/3/2023 09:44 | So frustrating the share price at the time that higher interest rates will be helping the bottom line...... | chrisdgb
15/3/2023 09:49 | Gone to sleep here and drifting, dear Board of Directors, this is a seller's market and you could double the share price overnight, so please deliver........... | chrisdgb
15/2/2023 15:43 | What is AUMA now................? | chrisdgb
26/1/2023 12:50 | I am slightly guessing here, but as a stockbroking heritage firm, I suspect the firm and clients will have a much grater allocation to UK equities than other rival firms who may move to global weighted portfolios. With the FTSE having done so well recently, this would support growth in AUM fees, and possibly trading fees, although I understand these are overall trending down. | davydoo
24/1/2023 18:07 | What is happening to this Sp in the closing auctions? Just a few days ago it jumped 5%> in the auction on very little buy volume, only to lose the same on the next day when the market opened. Then today 100k> buys for just under the ask, which is huge volume for this share and it closes down 3%< on a few share sold in the auction, it'll be interesting to see what happens at 0800 hrs tomorrow?.. If I was cynical I guess its the time the mms can manipulate a share either up or down and no one bats an eye!! | gbenson1
28/12/2022 08:23 | As a reminder, market cap £12.5m with £10.6m cash and even in weaker markets £4.9 billion AUMA.......... | chrisdgb
23/12/2022 11:12 | Nice to see the cash pile grow, this is a bonkers price…. | chrisdgb
23/12/2022 10:32 | Yes, very respectable results given the circumstances, but an understandably cautious outlook. Still worth 60p - but I'll now take 50p if anyone is offering? | value hound
23/12/2022 10:07 | Just a quick take on interims, making more profit on less AUM is an increase in profitability in my book! | gbenson1
23/12/2022 00:25 | Just wonder if the half year reports is out @ 0700 hrs, been quite a few buy nibbles and larger buys, the suspense is killing me!! Last interims were released @ 1400 hrs on a Fri.. | gbenson1
22/12/2022 08:39 | Oh gosh, same here the half day trading session normally has all sorts of wonky RNS's....!! | chrisdgb |
