Simon thompson at IC covers WCW. He last wrote after the interims:

"underlying pre-tax profit increased by almost two-thirds to £394,000 on revenue up 16 per cent to £15.4m in the six-month trading period, buoyed by a £500m year-on-year increase in assets under management and administration (AUMA) to £5.3bn, and a good showing from the company’s structured products investment division. Discretionary and advisory funds increased by a quarter, and Walker Crips’ wealth management arm (accounting for 10 per cent of AUMA) is now seeing the benefits of its rising recurring revenue.

Offering a near 5 per cent dividend yield, priced on a modest 10 times annual operating profit to enterprise value (Walker Crips has net cash of 14p a share on its balance sheet), and rated on a 27 per cent discount to book value, there is value here. I am not the only one who thinks so as non-executive director Lim Hua Min purchased 200,000 shares around the current price last month."

10. Contingent liability

During the year to 31 March 2017, two Group companies, Walker Crips Group plc (WCG) and Walker Crips Stockbrokers Limited (WCSB), received draft proceedings in respect of a potential claim, from a former listed corporate client of Keith Bayley Rogers & Co (KBR), a former subsidiary of the Group. The corporate client alleges that its former Executive Chairman and his associates misappropriated assets of GBP5.6m from it between 2010 and 2014 and used these assets to purchase and sell shares in the client through the brokerage of WCG, WCSB and KBR. The client asserts that WCG and WCSB acted dishonestly to assist the Chairman to perpetrate the alleged fraud and was party to an unlawful means conspiracy to cause it loss. It is also claimed that WCG, WCSB are vicariously liable for any wrongdoing on the part of KBR. The potential quantum of the claim is in excess of GBP1m.

The claims are strenuously denied by the Directors and the Directors consider the claim to be without any merit, as supported by a legal opinion obtained by WCG and WCSB, which advises that the claims are 'weak'. A detailed response denying liability for the claims was submitted to the client's representatives in December 2016. The Directors have heard nothing further from the former KBR client since then.

It would not surprise me to see Walker Crips Group WCW going up a bit on Thursday when Simon Thompson writes about it in the IC. He had it as one of his bargain shares. It has also been mentioned in the Deep Value site. I bought a few more this morning.

Some strange trades late yesterday, someone selling at way over the bid, that's what pushed the share price up to 49.5, it would be nice to break above the 52p ceiling but it usually doesn't, it drifts back to 45p region for the next ride, last set of results were strong so here's hoping.

Looks like we are in business - am expecting a crack at the long standing resistance mid price resistance in the low 50's - don't know how that ties in with the recent director sale of 60k though but then again the directors haven't had a good sucess record themselves with their share sales and buys so far. Sooner or later this resistance will be broken.

Does any one else read this board lol. Small buys trying to keep it under the radar, so it doesn't increase the share price imho.

Some nice buys over the last 2 days albeit some for the directors dividend fund, should make 50p in the next few days, then on to 54p ceiling.

50k BUY following the sale of 31,298. Even small purchases at full ask. The results reflect - such as cash flow - increased investment in SYSC, suitability - main story is the same more profitable business.
