Posted at 05/7/2024 19:46 by small cap value investor1 I am picking up any shares that are availableThis company has £15m cash which at 5% should produce £750,000 per annum market cap sub £10M They should earn a small margin on Clients cash balances This would be enough to provide a 10% Dividend return at the current share price They have stockbroking, investment management and pensions business that must have some value Is it too good to be true I am going to continue filing my boots |
Posted at 11/4/2024 09:16 by arthur_lame_stocks I still think WCW would be far better off as part of a larger Investment manager and there's been an awful lot of consolidation in the sector.I bought a few more today and this is one of my largest investments. I take a lot of comfort from the fact that the market cap is underpinned entirely by cash and they pay a dividend. At the moment it looks as close to a one way bet upwards as you're ever going to find. |
Posted at 29/12/2023 13:59 by davydoo Improve margin? They made £2,668,000 from client cash, up from £879,000 Client's cash! But the FCA consumer duty is doing what these firms wont, and so WCW have had to say in the results 'we plan for downward movement in this revenue stream' This company appears to be run for the employees, not the shareholders. |

Posted at 17/11/2023 11:06 by davydoo Depends what AUM number you are using.£3.1bn AUM but another £1.9bn under administration But the £3.1bn at 2% is still £62m, over 5x the current valuation, plus the current valuation is already met by cash held. However, the profit margins are tiny. Good financial advisers sell for 3-4x their annual revenue, which on a 1% fee model, is 3-4x their AUM, but they are often making 25% profit margins. WCW would need to make c.£8m a year to do the same. |
Posted at 13/11/2023 09:43 by arthur_lame_stocks Hopefully we'll get the finals in 3 to 6 weeks. I'm hoping for a significantly improved performance, no unexpected exceptionals and a much improved dividend |
Posted at 25/9/2023 08:03 by arthur_lame_stocks Suits me gbenson, I'm hoping to have some money to invest in a couple of months time and if I do some of it is earmarked for WCW. |
Posted at 01/8/2023 09:31 by arthur_lame_stocks This is a frustrating share to own. I still believe the intrinsic value is considerably in excess of the market cap but the company seems remarkably accident prone. The small dividend is also disappointing given the cash position. |
Posted at 01/8/2023 07:50 by 29palms Naughty, Naughty WCWRelease of figs “after the bell” not good IMO Note 10 Exceptional Item: Stamp Duty Reserve Tax liability to HMRC resulting from a system monitoring error where stamp duty was omitted from client contracts. A voluntary disclosure to HMRC will be made and we presently estimate the cost of repayment, potential penalties, and related costs, net of tax, to be GBP878,000. |
Posted at 11/7/2023 07:32 by gbenson1 A lot of the smaller U.K. wealth management company's have already been taken over, surely WCW have had the rule run over them? Results are due later this month.. |
