topvest: “Steady” results is what they say, which can otherwise be translated to mean slightly disappointing. Delay in results appears to have been caused by some relatively minor prior year restatements by the looks of things. Seem to be a bit prone to minor restatements which is not great from a financial control perspective. I guess these results were priced in as the share price had reduced in expectation of a flat year. Nothing very positive and nothing very negative. Definitely a value stock with a 5% yield. Difficult to see the value being unlocked, unless they can speed up the revenue growth or do a transaction. Super cheap though for a £30m turnover and c£1m profit wealth management business. To a bidder it would be worth £1 or so in my view. What do others think? It does look like they have now largely tackled the regulatory, system changes and office moves so they can hopefully focus on their strategy in the current year. Let’s see if directors buy a few more.

djgrantb: Any movement in the share price would be nice!! It's been moving side wards for the last year. Seem to been pushing a lot of money around but very little profit, opening paragraph not about the company, just stating obvious uptick in the economy, need a kick up the backside.

ben value: Transaction in own shares looks positive. I bought today but could only get a price of 48p. Michael Sunderland retires from full time employment at the end of Feb 2011 following his 65th birthday. I wonder if this will influence the share price. regards

gb2005: they must know what they are doing? or not? " Mon 25 Jul 2005 LONDON (SHARECAST) - Michael Sunderland, chief executive of stockbroker Walker Crips Wardle, has taken advantage of a sharp fall in the company's share price today to top up his holding. "

cockneyrebel: Hard to say - I think there may be someone acquiring on weakness and that's a factor. If they can double earnings over this year then I'd expect a 50% rise in the share price but that's an 'if', I haven't seen forecasts, I'm just reading between the lines as to what it sounds like they could do on organic growth and the recent acquisition. Not the cheapest broker around but look good value for the growth imo. CR

cockneyrebel: Results in 3 weeks? bid news perhaps? Look at all those buys by Bailey. Look at how the share price just takes any selling on the chin (where a buyer soaks them up imo. Bailey is regared as a shrewd investor (have a read on Citywire) so it's interesting that the best place he can find for his onw money is WCW shares imo. Not long to go. CR
