Great to see them go down the REX route, and give excisting shareholders an opportunity to invest at a discount, rather than go via primary bid route, which gives traders the opportunity to buy and then dump into the market, (for a quick buck) A class idea, from a class bunch of management team..

I sold out a couple of weeks ago on the obvious pump that was going on ahead of a placing - the change of advisor was already a red flag that this would happen. Bought back at a 1% premium to the issue today. That cost me 10p or so per share from my sale. I was nervy about a placing in this horrible market but the small discount to the pumped up share price that was achieved coupled with the management buying, the acquisition and the clear situational statement made me get straight back in.

I've not seen a lot of that with primary bid. There is a quite a lag between applying for the shares and receiving them before they reach your account. You could probably forward sell them but there are risks.

What I have seen a lot of from PB is a load of shoddy companies taking naïve punters money. I've "bought" £1000 of about 20 PB offering and followed how they have done in a theoretical portfolio. Currently this is down 20% on average. Worst offenders MJ Hudson (-100% about a month later) Angle/Net zero (-80%) a whole stack down 20-50% with only AO (+100%) Trident Royalties (+30%) doing well. Avoid them all.

Never heard of rex until today.

Haven't seen a REX deal before. In this case it was only existing shareholders who could participate. The trouble with PrimaryBid is that its use usually trashes the share price for a while as the stags pile in and then some pile out quickly at any price. The only consolation to those not in a position to act, or move quickly enough, is that the PrimaryBid drop usually allows them to pick up shares at the issue price in the open market.

I hate Primarybid because it gives short term traders profits in companies they know nothing about and real investors lose out. It makes me spit when companies proudly say that they're looking after their retail investors because that is one thing they are definitely not doing.

No idea why everyone is using REX rather than Primary Bid as people like me who use Barclays cannot go in with REX. This is the third or fourth fund raise through REX I have not been able to participate in, not that I would have done with any of them.

I took another 5K in the open market at 278p.
At a 1% extra to the placing!
I'm fine with that, based on the directors taking 15 million at 275p.

I'm afraid it was today! The retail offering is a side show to the placing, and that will take place in a rush. II closed the offering at 10.30 today.
