24/5/2023 21:24 | Nvidia seeing "surging demand" for its data center products. Up 27% in after hours trading | dixienormas
18/5/2023 07:25 | My guess is that story was leaked by NR himself. | ijamlon
18/5/2023 06:48 | I guess as a wider point you have to wonder what is Nats wider motivation. He was born with more money than we’ll ever have, had a bit of a dubious record before here but as mentioned probably wants something more prestigious at some point. There can’t be a sale without his approval given his stake. Not sure Peel Hunt do a lot of M&A though. Time will tell, I’m here for longer term growth rather than a takeover. | dr biotech
18/5/2023 06:37 | DLAR appoint Clive Whiley as Non-Executive Chairman. | zho
18/5/2023 06:28 | Yeah and now another broker… | dr biotech
17/5/2023 21:46 | Interesting that Judith mackenzie stated there could be an equity buy out here the other day. A hint maybe?! | johndoe23
17/5/2023 21:25 | I don't think he wants to spend the rest of his life running a power cord firm. DLR is small but prestigious and there could be a massive amount of financial upside from option awards in a turnaround situation. Volex was the same size not that many years ago after all. | ijamlon
17/5/2023 21:18 | VLX is 7x the size of DLAR, whats in it for him? His stake in VLX is worth more, and he's hardly short of money in the first place. But I'd take £4.50.. | dr biotech
17/5/2023 21:09 | Interesting story here. Could be a catalyst for a sale of Volex if true.... Sky News has learnt that a number of institutions have been arguing for Mr Rothschild, who has led a successful turnaround of the listed industrials group Volex, to be appointed as Kevin Loosemore's successor.City sources confirmed on Wednesday that De La Rue, whose customers include the Bank of England, had held discussions in recent weeks with the scion of the eponymous banking dynasty. | ijamlon

12/5/2023 06:22 | Good spot. There’s a lot of guff about ignoring past performance etc in the share price It then says Revenue is expected to rise by 16pc year-on-year, while underlying operating profit is set to be about 17pc higher. A 0.2 percentage point increase in the company’s underlying operating profit margin to 9.3pc highlights its capacity to successfully manage costs during an era of rampant inflation. This highlights its strong competitive position, which could prove beneficial over the coming months should inflation prove to be somewhat sticky. Net debt is due to have fallen by $22m (£17.4m) in the second half of the financial year so that it stands at about $76m at year-end. The company appears to be in a sound financial position to make further acquisitions following four purchases in the previous financial year. It is also well placed to ramp-up investment in the structural growth markets in which it operates, notably electric vehicles, to expand its range of operations. Volex key facts Trading on a price-to-earnings ratio of 12.9, Volex remains attractively priced given its long-term growth potential. Indeed, its share price includes a wide margin of safety that suggests its risk/reward opportunity is still highly favourable ahead of an improving outlook for the global economy. While it is tempting to lock-in the stock’s large capital gain, this column believes it has further room to run. Therefore, Volex remains a worthwhile holding in our IHT portfolio. Questor says: hold | dr biotech
12/5/2023 05:45 | "An attractive valuation and several growth catalysts suggest further capital increases are ahead for integrated manufacturing specialist." Daily TelegraphToday's Questor column writes up Volex. | steeplejack

05/5/2023 14:40 | Thanks - thats a decent write up. Cautions about consumer electronics but everything else is positive. Been a decent week here, seems the contract news has kept the light on lowly valuation | dr biotech
05/5/2023 11:47 | Thanks mfhmfh, Exploit a valuation gap with this reinvention story Aim-traded stock has turned itself around in the past five years – but the valuation hasn’t caught | zho
05/5/2023 10:38 | positive write-up in IC for what it's worth. | mfhmfh
05/5/2023 08:23 | simmsc- as long as companies make cars with charging inlets designed for cables then they will need to supply a charging cable with the car. Induction charging systems will have to be an additional extra to cable charging for many years to come until the infrastructure is in place to replace cable charging. In the meantime VLX will build up their in-car cable/component sales. | valhamos
05/5/2023 07:19 | New buyers off the initiation of coverage from Peel Hunt (a more heavyweight and influential broker than their existing ones) plus positive momentum from results and news, generating short squeeze on GLG. Means one way traffic in the short-term regardless of wider market. | ijamlon
05/5/2023 06:56 | Inductive charging is the future for the automobile industry. I'm aware that a large German car manufacturer has already signed a contract with a privately owned inductive charging company and the first car it will be rolled out on is an SUV (their best selling model). And I'm safely informed that another ca 10 large (all big names) automobile companies are queuing up to sign contracts with this company too. Does inductive charging for cars change anything for Volex (EV exposure wise)? | simmsc

03/5/2023 11:58 | Good to see some upwards momentum in the share price. Shows what a difficult market we are in when a growth company like this continues to outperform expectations but doesn't see it reflected in the share price. I'm hoping positive results in June will see us push through the 300p on beyond into the mid 300s | aeu97137
