12/9/2019 10:36 | What motivates a 40k sell? | alchemy
12/9/2019 10:28 | Also, always expect the unexpected so don’t bet the ranch on one stock! | chillpill
12/9/2019 10:12 | I tried trading short term for a few months. Didn't make or lose anything. Versarien looked like a unique proposal to me which is why I hold for longer. Market conditions tell us what to do. My 2nd year of investment | 1teepee
12/9/2019 10:04 | Teepee, I think that changes in time. I definitely used to be a trader but that was 20 odd years ago. The whole late 90’s and early 2000 were totally bonkers. You couldn’t fail to make money. Over the years (in normalised market conditions) I’ve learnt it is better to spend my day focused on investigating solid long term investments rather than staring at a screen looking at short term movements in price and willing them up or down. If you are a short term trader you need (amongst other things) to pay for a share register to know where the underlying flow of stock is coming from. As we know 90% of the AIM market is junk so you need to focus on the 10pc. I met VRS in May 2015 but it took me until Sept 2018 to have the confidence to buy the shares. If I find one good AIM share to buy each year then that’s fine with me. | chillpill
12/9/2019 09:00 | Long term holder equal long term trader. You still buy and sell, you just wait longer. Not sure y the difference is so large in somes heads | 1teepee
12/9/2019 08:57 | "Advanced materials, another member of the seven families in the DTF, encompasses nanotechnology, applications of synthetic biology, and the development of materials with novel molecular structures such as graphene. In particular, 3D bioprinting poses an avenue for human enhancement in the UK Armed Forces." | woodpeckers
12/9/2019 08:48 | thanks for your interpretion (grabster 78364). Cyroma website, which is their window to the world, concentrates on the current normal forms of injection, vacuum products. Perhaps incorporation of graphene is more difficult and specialised and is not a mainstream activity,.. yet. Not sure how VRS' present collaborators interact with Cyroma | ewads
12/9/2019 08:43 | Thought i would share this link. Apologies if posted before.https://digit | flatcoat1
12/9/2019 08:33 | Thanks to AquaeSulis01 for those updates on NanoXplore. Sounds like their strategy is along the same lines as VRS, except they have initially concentrated earlier on the bulk production of lower grade Carbon Black before moving towards something like Polygrene primarily for the automotive industry. We should be encouraged rather than alarmed by the emergence of such competition, especially where they seem to be streets behind us in VRS’ chosen niche markets. We are still the only verified source of few layer Graphene at commercial scale, and I’m sure NR and team are working flat out to ensure VRS maintains its lead. | shavian

12/9/2019 08:20 | Doesn't do much for the relevance of VRS. This might be the thread that allows uncensored views on VRS but this type of posting is stupidity. | dgduncan
12/9/2019 08:20 | 66sequoia...cannot open the link...if you alter the two t's in https to capitals it makes it linkable. I wouldn't know re your question....it would have to be verified to be sure it was. | jointer13
12/9/2019 08:09 | So jointer would you say that the article below and the numerous headlines below it fall into the graphite argument? I only ask as i dont know........ https://www.thegraph | 66sequoia
12/9/2019 07:54 | exactly sg there has been a lot of testing done (loads of info on the web) out there and the majority of it comes back as cheap graphite (don't get me wrong there is a market for it) “ hence our uniqueness...being the only validated company in the world. our quality has been known for a while to some, hence the amount of interest in us. so having our quality materials validated is a massive statement that is not to be underestimated. | jointer13
12/9/2019 07:46 | Having re-read Rockraven's post I can see how Bisho4 and Superg1 might mischievously misinterpret it. Personally I took him to mean that Cyroma has the facility to make a very wide range of plastic products (which it already does for existing customers) and could perhaps by now have come up with some graphene enhanced product of its own design (domestic, industrial, whatever) as a marketable demonstration product. Maybe they are actually about to do so, for all we know, but they haven't yet. I don't read Rockraven's post as implying that Cyroma should have got into producing in-house versions of items currently being made by collaborators. I think Rockraven's point was that using Cyroma in that way would give Versarien control of something, controlling ONE route to market, when they (understandably) cannot control timings for collabs that people are getting impatient about. I've made comments myself several times querying why Cyroma wasn't getting much of a mention, and quoting NR's comment when it was bought - about it providing a route to market. Though I agree that the reference to 8 years is a bit unfair as Cyroma was only bought 3 years ago. | grabster
12/9/2019 07:35 | Another day and no Bigt. Time running out for Ricketts to save some face. This Company is running on hype and fantasy. | rainbow23
12/9/2019 06:46 | superg1 - "As for doing the arch themselves that is completely daft comment and shows significant lack of understanding." I agree, But I never suggested any such thing! You are attacking me for a daft comment made by someone else (Bisho4). Try reading what I actually said. | rockraven
11/9/2019 23:07 | O/T, Sandbag, I have no particular recommendation but a few comments. Before giving to any charity I look at their accounts. If I see excessive wages I walk away. I've already looked at the one you mentioned and walked. Charities are a personal thing people donate in various areas depending on their own choices so advice is impossible, it depends on your focus. I've looked at a number of charities and walked away. One was guide dogs for the blind. Their costs /dog trained are enormous. Apart from the top salaries they moved from basic offices to a stately home with lovely grounds ! Someone else also had enough of charities costs and rang the ones he donated to for an explanation of the senior people's salaries. They answered if you want the best you have to pay our wage levels. He replied' that's what the banks said in 2008 '. He cancelled a lot of donations after the phone calls. Each person should take a view on say how many are paid £60k+ and whether £150k is acceptable for the top person. I also look at their wage rises over the last few years and how many have moved into the higher brackets. For me I won't donate to charities where the top people pay themselves what I consider excessive wages. | serratia
11/9/2019 19:36 | Interestingly, the recent 28.2m Canadian dollar sell of 18.3% Nanoxplore shares values the company at approx £95.54M (link one) for a producer of high volume but lower grade graphene (link two). As an aside, does anyone know whether the current testing by VRS to a successful scale-up to 30 tonnes is a testing of new machines only or new machines plus a change to the process? | aquaesulis01
11/9/2019 19:33 | Art Terrorism ... | east coker
11/9/2019 19:11 | That hit the mark SG. The old sayings have truth to them, Rome wasn't built in a day. If VRS last that long I think our ancestors will be talking about where it all started on other planets. | fireball xl5 |
