17/4/2019 17:24 | And this chinese research paper shows excellent progress in carbon fibre graphene hybrid materials for instance. It cites aerospace applications, very relevant to bigt i imagine ! Aimo. Glalth. Best ellis Published: 05 February 2018 'Carbon fibers coated with graphene reinforced TiAl alloy composite with high strength and toughness.' Sen Cui, Chunxiang Cui, Jiaqi Xie, Shuangjin Liu & 'Abstract.' "To meet the more rigorous requirement in aerospace industry, recent studies on strengthening and toughening TiAl alloys mostly focus on high Nb addition, which inevitably bring in an increasing of density. In this study, a carbon fibers coated with graphene reinforced TiAl alloy composite was fabricated by powder metallurgy, melt spun and vacuum melting. This composite got remarkable mechanical properties combined with a prominent density reduction. In contrast with pure TiAl ingots, this sample exhibits an average fracture strain from 16% up to 26.27%, and an average strength from 1801 MPa up to 2312 MPa. Thus, we can achieve a new method to fabricate this low-density, good mechanical performance TiAl composite which could bring in more opportunities for application in aerospace industry....." 'Discussion.' "In this study, graphene reinforced TiAl exhibits a Vickers hardness of 240HV0.1. However, the carbon fibers/graphene reinforced TiAl alloys exhibit a much higher Vickers hardness of 426HV0.1...." "...In summary, Graphene/carbon fibers reinforced TiAl alloy composite was fabricated by powder metallurgy, melt spun and remelting. The TiC and Ti2AlC particle were in situ synthesize | ![]() ellissj

17/4/2019 17:11 | To my mind, the general outline of this latest rns looks very encouraging; when viewed against who the strategic investment is by, that vrs will wholly own the subsidary, it's non binding and it is non exclusive. A good starting point to enter into negotiations. neill said on the poddy - no money discussed as yet - which some may see as a negative, inc maybe the market? But i see this as a positive. Purely because of the level of interest we have - matt tweeted odi have 5 target markets - but others have submitted proposals too. Eg. We know the USA is looking to be getting very serious about graphene per the summit on capitol hill - vrs extremely well placed, given we are first GC verified producer (As super pointed out per usa update rns quote below - excellent engagements). Neill says the ambition of vrs is to get this chinese deal done by the agm, so if extremely good news is expected to land by then, this will help formulate the value (in a good way) of the company and therefore the strategic investment. The counter argument is that if you thought your future prospects elsewhere were poor, you'd get the best deal you could now, especially if it was the only game in town ? Which it isn't. So I'm very confident Neill and co have every reason to only consider this investment on the basis it is a company maker, not breaker. Optimistic here. Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis Per usa update - "We are already pursuing a number of substantial opportunities in the US, particularly through the support of the National Graphene Association, and I expect our level of activity to significantly increase in the coming months, particularly given the high number of enquires we have had for the supply of our graphene and other 2D materials from leading US companies." Matt per twitter: "The ODI strategy remains the same - 5 target markets; and who is to say that other markets won't join in too because there are plenty knocking on the door with propositions." 10:20 AM · Apr 15, 2019 | ![]() ellissj
17/4/2019 16:53 | Grabster, Doubt I'm ready to handle that amount of cash! Should have added a :). Or maybe a ;) to my suggestion. Anyway a :) now! More potentially useful to some, history (2 days old) from MattW's twitter - new to me and not seen it mentioned here. (Apols to those seen it elsewhere!) Dialogue with Matt, started by someone I'll note as 'ttdu'. I've edited his words but left Matt's unchanged apart from deleting the personal responses. Glad to see Matt's very positive comments. ___________ ttdu: Selling 15% of company for access to one market? US/Aecom view? MW: ODI strategy remains the same - 5 target markets; plenty more knocking on the door with propositions. ttdu: So the 'Big Five' are entire markets, not companies? China, India, Korea, Japan, US? All 15%? MW: There are target markets; target companies/institutio ttdu: A picture where have to de-focus eyes before image appears? MW: A bit like that, yes, but where people don't need to get their protractors out and work out something that doesn't need working out, as they work to archaic methods. | ![]() hew

17/4/2019 16:44 | What I mean is, 131.4p was the very lowest little trade of the day, and they are choosing to show that as the closing mid price, it's nonsense. They do stupid dirty tricks like that all the time on this share. | ![]() festario

17/4/2019 16:42 | I'm fine thanks, I got a very welcome all clear on Monday, so it was back to the gym yesterday. I'm 100% now.I'm amazed that the rise has been curtailed, 14p down from Monday's high, not a nice adjustment. But the volume was pathetically low today, and the mid price being wrongly displayed down might have encouraged a few profit takers. Those who sold at 144p did well, I never manage to do such things. | ![]() festario
17/4/2019 16:38 | Hello Fest, I hope you are recovering Fest. Well, I thought when it hit 143.. would it close that gap at 130? Maybe a quick little shake 1st thing tomorrow then recover a bit. | ![]() laginaneil

17/4/2019 16:25 | The Chinese entity MAY take UP TO 15% of a larger VRS entity following an equity issue. That's a completely different thing, it's important to deal in facts. But, it's over 132.5p to sell at the moment, so ADVFN is displaying the wrong mid price. | ![]() festario
17/4/2019 16:21 | Completely agree Woody. The share price is now back to more or less the level it was before the market was advised that the Chinese government wants 15% of the company! | ![]() melf
