If we extrapolate from Tesla’s numbers, we can reach an estimate for Altmaier’s ambitious target. The Californians plan to reach a production capacity of an annual 35 GWh in the Nevada Gigafactory with their partner Panasonic. The last expansion had been to 20 GWh, which shows how quickly manufacturers are increasing their targets.

It is estimated that a total global production of 175 GWh will be reached by 2020. This would be about five times the production levels in 2016, and an estimate from expert opinions at the conference could put the global production at 1,200 GWh by 2025, according to electrive.net. According to the same experts, the battery production could grow to 3,000 GWh by 2030, which would mean that the 30% Altmaier and Šefčovič hope for would be a cool 1,000 GWh. If we take Tesla’s Gigafactory as an example here with 35 GWh, Europe would theoretically need about 29 such factories to satisfy 30% of global demand.

Europe’s ambitious plans for battery cell production are a bit behind if these numbers can be relied on – construction and investment efforts over the next twelve years would have to be immense. Of these projects, none have begun at this point, so it remains to be seen how quickly the EU can get mobilized for e-mobility.

This is unprecedented.

Nothing even close to this has ever happened on the London stock market, the interest from those that understand graphene is incredible and it’s well beyond my expectations.

I'm still backing £2 plus before Y/E BTW. If the supply (if still around) would kindly dry up, that would help.

Hey ho let's hope there are plenty short as that will help.

Fest BTW I saw a 50k sell, was that you? I saw you are doing a bit of trading on that amount.

I have to say it's all moving far faster than I possibly imagined when I started this thread. The DIT guys seconded was a bolt out of the blue. As Matt said his role currently is through VRS to create jobs and revenue for the UK.

I mentioned the news being a cog in the bigger picture. Still busy here and I've just had time to digest the news properly.

If you recall NR and co said the way it works is NDA, collaboration, then MOU to JV.

Todays news broken down on those points.



The MOU covers the plans for Versarien and JHFI,

together with other parties in China as may be agreed

to establish a joint venture for the manufacture and sale of the Company's Nanene, Graphinks and other related graphene products in Jinan.

Subject to the satisfactory completion of negotiations it is envisaged that JHFI will provide funding for the venture in a structure to be agreed.

And as he says that's important Chinese guys flying into the UK to sign the deal with VRS. That's the 2nd time in short order.

Log makes zero difference to the SP, he is strictly small time in almost any way you can imagine, just sit back and ignore, safe in the knowledge that the share price will play out the way it will driven by the future news and market, not by an odd chap who has an obsession ;)

Didn’t help that US markets have been selling off again, dow down 400pts + etc not great, just as we were about to move up above 130p, one may have to stay patient a bit longer. Also Brexit saga still going nowhere, many matters need resolving before any market rally, Santa rally etc, maybe the New Year will bring good cheer here.
