02/10/2018 19:25 | The GO question revolved around China from my recollection I may be wrong but my take was the Chinese are producing Graphene Oxide not Graphene but they are being promoted and sold as Graphene. Neill had a concern regarding that false selling. As I say my interpretation which could be wrong as I was also near the back. | wr63
02/10/2018 19:25 | Cpi tender winners rns 2dtech products page link. Click for graphene spec sheet. There you will see vrs graphene oxide and reduced grapene oxide. The collaborations choose us because of our graphene gnp's; +nanene. Plus our graphinks. As did Gnano. Probably graphene oxide is the most produced 'graphene' product in the world, even if most is many layer or graphite. Therefore, the better quality graphene oxide may well find some market space in a range of applications, but clearly it can't rival +nanene per se, else the many big globals in collab would be elsewhere. And most importantly, if graphene oxide gave the best results, vrs would be using it in their collabs, and they do not ! Logic dictates a firm that can compete in few layer gnp's and match vrs +nanene should be considered a rival. Or a firm that can mass produce single layer cvd or similar graphene - see mike bremners thoughts on that. Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis | ellissj
02/10/2018 19:23 | Festario, my take was that there may be benefits from using Graphene Oxide but it is not the same as GNPs so it may depend on which applications or products need the benefits that VRS can bring. | redstone64
02/10/2018 19:14 | .... and I've no idea if this is the case, I didn't bring the issue up.All I'm saying is that IF it's an issue, only one of our twitterati could help to quantify it. | festario
02/10/2018 19:09 | Lucky, you obviously haven't read, or understood what I actually posted. If I was a customer for something in extremely short supply, I'd have to play ball with the producer. But, if suddenly a different source of supply came on stream, then I suddenly have options don't I ? | festario
02/10/2018 19:08 | Zagro, ISO seems to be in limbo as most graphite companies don't want it. In the meantime it seems some are trialling nanene and some are happy with what I presume are cheaper less potent products | sonsonnyjim
02/10/2018 19:08 | No and as Neill said the collaborators and China aren't bothered. They want nanene now. | zagrosfold
02/10/2018 19:06 | Zagro - wouldn't hold your breath waiting for ISO. There are a lot of companies - and a few countries - who will do all they can to prevent/delay it... | club sandwich
02/10/2018 19:04 | The ISO standard will sort the wheat from the chaff officially. While we wait for that all the big companies in the know that aren't that bothered about ISO certification will continue to use nanene. | zagrosfold
02/10/2018 18:57 | If our first mover advantage is under threat, then the Chinese and other potential customers will be aware, and if we haven't established a commercial working partnership with them, they could look elsewhere. This bears further discussion. | festario
02/10/2018 18:52 | Fest - well he sometimes changes his mind about what he said in front of an audience... | club sandwich
02/10/2018 18:52 | Thanks. I was sat towards the back. | chimpandy1
02/10/2018 18:51 | I'm sure competition will emerge eventually, but they will still face all the testing periods that VRS have faced. At last VRS are well into their testing Phases and way ahead. No company in their right mind would place a large order for a product that they have not thoroughly tested. Orders will be nice when they come though as proof that the product really works. | chimpandy1
02/10/2018 18:50 | ChimpAndy1, I also heard Neill mention Graphene Oxide as something they consider a future threat. We will see but Neill has always said there will be competition and has in general said it is welcome to boost the industry as a whole. | redstone64
02/10/2018 18:48 | Errr, why don't you all tweet Mr Ricketts to clarify if you're worried about a worry?I'm sure he'll willingly discuss what he said or didn't say at the AGM.That normally works doesn't it? | festario
02/10/2018 18:44 | Regardless, even if it hasn't already competition *will* emerge. VRS needs to get orders and really get the show on the road! | club sandwich
02/10/2018 18:44 | Can anybody else at the AGM confirm or deny sonnys statement? | chimpandy1
02/10/2018 18:42 | Neill was asked about CVD graphene and Neill replied that it is for a different market but I never herd him mention graphene oxide as a worry. I'm sure if he had there would have been further questioning too. | chimpandy1
02/10/2018 18:40 | He did during QA Andy, doubtless someone has it recorded | sonsonnyjim
02/10/2018 18:38 | I was at the AGM and I am pretty sure that Neill didn't say anything about graphene oxide. | chimpandy1
02/10/2018 18:28 | Sorry - posts crossed | lovat scout |
