I am intrigued by EVs . I suppose you could design the 19 or so movable parts to be driven by a lithium ion battery such that it, the battery, could be replaced or augmented by a super duper nanene included one later. That would need a defined interface. And it kind of matters to urban take up that the regrettable features of lithium are obviated.I don't live in the leafy suburbs with a garage and a drive. I couldn't buy an EV right now. I'm not "good" enough. To search out a parking bay plug in go home go back hours later. But the architecture in the Zap and Go website , where charging quickly at an Electric Garage is like a visit to a petrol station...I'd buy that!Especially with a range of > say 400 miles. Relevant to VRS only in one of our segments where we have invested but a few points percentage of our capital as yet. But the upside.

Ian Cowie: I first gave him the full heads-up on VRS on 3 July. He had not heard of us then. He was quite intrigued by graphene but like most observers he was still assuming it was a story for the decades to come. He knows otherwise now and should be fully up to date as he should now be in receipt of my AGM notes as well as all the RNS history.

NR has confirmed he hasn't spoken to Ian Cowie but is "happy to talk :)"

This leadership in EVs is a tad questionable . Think they had to think of something to say.If the nextgen EV is steady state and exclusively helped by our catapult and academic IP so be it but it remains to be seen. After all , Audi, Merc, BMW etc currently offering or about to offer EVs .Ok the BMW is made her , assembled here, and F1 mercs here too. But just a note of caution. Nissans are holding on here for some reason which could be a goodie...A touch of agnosticism.

Post no. 22 on 25/01/18 by spike, looking even better after gnano purchase imo ! Best ellis

"Well - Davos - Bloomberg interview with Teresa May: she mentioned two technology areas where we are a leading research player: batteries & electric cars.

Both of these could very well be good for Nanene.

She didn't mention any other tech so it came close to graphene. Could get a lot closer next week - we shall see ;0)

Best wishes - Mike"

I am bad at reading others tones but I trust your judgement, de-diversification.

The tone from NR concerning China certainly suggests that a deal is close imo.

Exciting times

nemo - once the multi-T orders (multi-100T?) start rolling in and China is up and running the markets will wake up, then the share price will (should!) be scores of pounds, maybe a lot more...

nemo - in as little as a couple of years we'll look back at the current share price and laugh. The VRS story has barely even begun yet!

Looks like Ian Cowie of Sunday Times will be writing about VRS this weekend . On Twitter he said:

Regret left it too late and Versarien will be ‘one that got away’. Sunday’s column should explain...

He's had several replies saying no you're not too late and Stuart Harris has tweeted NR:

Good morning Neill i believe ian Cowie from The Sunday Telegraph (sic) is doing a story on VRS this Sunday. have you spoken to him . He seems to think he missed out on VRS in truth its still early days re VRS . Dont want people thinking they missed the boat.

foolishben,
Not foolish at all:
Having said that, Neill's reply was perhaps more detailed that it needed to be and makes it clear that a China deal before the USA visit is a distinct possibility. In many ways it was a pretty clever and well worded question and Neill was not in any way dismissive. A good sign I feel...

I completely concur ;0)

Best wishes - Spike

In other news, it's getting more expensive to buy again. There might not be much supply left at this level.

Can highly recommend the Mello investor conference in London 26/27 November ... great place to meet 60 quality companies, hear from some of the top investors and meet lots of other private investors. Best Mike

I've been thinking that since January Haz101, but luckily I still think it, otherwise I'd have been selling down shares in the interim.

Incidentally, on a totally-unrelated topic: when was it that Chinese investors could start investing in UK stocks?

As it was with his answer to Spike’s question at the AGM. My notes say that Neill evaded the question by saying that his contact at the Graphene Council had said they were doing their best despite being battered at the time by the recent hurricane. The Council’s Executive Director Terence Barkan (who NR was talking to) seems to be located in Washington DC, which was in the path of Hurricane Florence on Monday 17 Sept, the week before the AGM. Let’s see what happens.

NR can't answer on twitter. I wouldn't ask such questions. For sure, his answer would be blur in such cases.

Someone just asked Neill the following on Twitter Hi Neil, Congrats on your nomination. A question if I may. In an ideal world it would be great to visit America later this month having signed a deal with China. My question, to manage expectations, is this realistic or is my timeline for a deal premature?Neill'sresponse was ..Let's see what happens, not everything in life is preplanned but we'll try our best
