02/10/2018 18:27 | Sonny - please elaborate re Graphene Oxide- I couldn’t make AGM. | lovat scout
02/10/2018 18:26 | To be honest I can't remember the exact question it was in response to, may have been China related. Basically Neill has asked if a certain graphene (I think the rolled one) was a competitor and the answer was no as the target markets were different, and that graphene oxide was a worry. A worry I think he meant same market rather than a literal similar quality substance. | sonsonnyjim
02/10/2018 18:23 | Did he really say that? How is graphene oxide a worry? The top companies don't want that, that's why they're collaborating with vrs and not the other graphite companies. | zagrosfold
02/10/2018 18:22 | Sonson - so VRS needs to capture the high ground quickly and keep it! | club sandwich
02/10/2018 18:15 | Neill did say at the agm that graphene oxide was a worry, competition was always going to rear it's head at some point | sonsonnyjim
02/10/2018 17:59 | This is why VRS need to get some orders in sharpish - blow the 'competition' out of the water and demonstrate to the world that nanene is the real deal and everything else is also-rans... | club sandwich

02/10/2018 17:36 | Ora headphones, multilayer 'graphite' per likely iso defn? Digital trends reviewer says sound quality is good for price point. "The drivers Ora has made for its new headphones aren’t made of pure graphene, however. Instead, Ora opted for a hybrid approach it calls GrapheneQ, an oxide compound that employs nanotechnology to deposit flakes of graphene into thousands of layers that are bonded together. Ora says the resulting GrapheneQ compound is 95 percent graphene by weight, and highly malleable, which makes it comparatively easy to mass produce." They claim lots of products to come. Inc speakers for mobiles, worlds top 2 manufacturers interested ! Best ellis. "Ora is particularly bullish on the smartphone industry, where it thinks applying GrapheneQ tech could result in smaller, low-power speakers that sound better than those mounted in your current smartphone. The company goes so far as to say that six cell phone manufacturers — including “the top two in the world” — have experimented with incorporating GrapheneQ (the top two smartphone makers in the world are Samsung and Apple)." | ellissj
02/10/2018 17:31 | Latest Graphene-Info Newsletter. 4th article carries an interesting graph from Abalonyx on the reducing price of graphene oxide with increasing production. Sort of comes out at EUR100 per kg for Composites: But it won't work as well as +Nanene! | shavian
02/10/2018 17:24 | re the press and getting VRS known. There is a far more powerful and genuine key to doors than that. It’s called the DIT and we have 2 staff seconded. Positive press articles normally end up with spikes of buying and an share price short term. If you recall NR said his work tripled post the arrival of Matt. Still digging on many fronts BTW and that inflection point where stock gets very tight doesn’t look to be that far off.😎 Good news for us, not so good for others. | superg1
02/10/2018 17:15 | Lab technicians in that video are badged McGill. (McGill University, Montreal) Does that give any clue as to which graphene company? The basic searchbox on McGill Uni home page brings up nothing for graphene, graphite, or Ora. Searchbox on their Research page brings one result. EDIT: It's graphene oxide in those headphones apparently. Found this: Marta Cerruti, Department of Materials Engineering Engineering graphene oxide membranes to achieve high fidelity speakers with low dimensional materials Three years, $469,400 In this project, Professor Cerruti’s team will be engineering graphene oxide membranes to achieve high fidelity speakers with low dimensional materials. Graphene is a single atomic layer of carbon atoms that is ultra-light and ultra-stiff, but unsuitable for direct integration into consumer audio products. Chemically processed graphene, known as graphene oxide, can be easily processed with water-based chemistry and dried out into ultra-light and ultra-stiff films. Graphene oxide membranes are superior to commonly used Mylar membranes for acoustic applications, enabling improved sound fidelity with lower electrical power consumption. The successful completion of the project will strengthen Canada's global leadership position in the application of graphene materials in new technologies. It is noticeable that in ORA's Youtube video they are asking for support to bring the product to market. Which implies it's not there yet? | grabster
02/10/2018 16:56 | ORA claim they are launching the world’s first graphene headphones Cost is around £240, with estimated delivery of Feb 2019 | turbocharge
02/10/2018 16:19 | "It has also been discovered that creating hybrid materials can also be useful for achieving battery enhancement. A hybrid of Vanadium Oxide (VO2) and graphene, for example, can be used on Li-ion cathodes and grant quick charge and discharge as well as large charge cycle durability. In this case, VO2 offers high energy capacity but poor electrical conductivity, which can be solved by using graphene as a sort of a structural “backbone&rdqu | club sandwich

02/10/2018 15:43 | Just read this on an asset mgmt co web site: "We invest in companies, not sectors or countries. Our starting point is always to find good quality companies. Only then do we consider the political and economic environment in which they operate." once the significant revenues start coming in such AM companies are going to go nuts for VRS... | club sandwich
02/10/2018 15:36 | Speech last month by cbi chief to zero emission ev summit : "On innovation and universities, Carolyn will say:" “The transition to zero-emissions presents the greatest set of technical challenges since the space race. “And like the space race, they’re not challenges business or the Government can solve alone. There’s a vital third partner: our universities, where so much of the technology will first take shape. “In Europe, universities and businesses have already built links across the continent. The European Framework Programmes have been great at connecting science and industry, and they will be all the stronger with the UK involved after Brexit. “But let’s now extend those partnerships beyond Europe – to the US, China, India, Japan and other countries. “So continental links become global links, because our universities are the hinge on which the door to the zero-emission transition turns.” Looks like vrs ahead of the game, re uk-spain tie up with gnanomet. Wonder how this in turn could further collaborate internationally ! Great positioning by neill and co imo. Glalth. Best ellis | ellissj
02/10/2018 15:35 | Mryl at least some of the press are told what to put out, thanks though for the feedback it added a lot to the discussion | sonsonnyjim
02/10/2018 15:35 | Turbo, good summary however... I already sent Ian Cowie my full AGM notes which got 63 thumbs from you guys, I think you’ll find they cover almost all of your good points. Also I see that Mike Brenner has just sent him his 3 outstanding summaries in the header. I think the poor bloke has had enough bombardment from the VRS family already. To answer Lovat and phoenixs, I rate Ian well above most financial journos, which is why I chose to wise him up on VRS back in July. He tells me he’s kicking himself for not investing on that info. I’m sure he’ll do VRS justice this weekend but I’ve advised him to check his facts with NR in advance. | shavian
02/10/2018 15:35 | Turbo - I think what you are trying to say is that it is not too late to get in and it really has only just started. Goo summary. | dgduncan |
