I'm curious about deramping. Surely some comments on a bulletin board aren't going to make any difference to a SP? They might sew a few seeds of doubt, but nothing to make a difference.

DimTim tries his best with NR on Twitter, but the score against NR is about 55:0 in NR's favour. His knowledge about VRS is so fragmentary, that I can't see anyone taking any notice, except to enjoy him being made fun of. From his point of view, I would have thought some version of attention-seeking.

I can see the 'tip sheets' and newsletters could make a difference, but they change their minds every few weeks, whether to ramp or deramp, and most investors can see through that technique?

Apologies if posted already: Only 3:30 in length. Found it interesting in respect of the exports. hxxps://www.directorstalk.net/interview-versarien-plc-from-1-to-24-deals-within-weeks/

Thanks grabster, that's really helpful. Only using tiny stakes, so not worried about potential losses currently, but prefer to learn by doing!

The new rules really concern GS. Everything else is pretty much unchanged, IG Markets already operate the new rule changes and Margin requirements.

Looking on the net found this article.

hxxps://quillandpad.com/2017/05/16/visiting-mclaren-richard-mille/

Mainly about the watch. However he does say:- "During my visit with McLaren, I discovered that engineers are using graphene in the Formula 1 race cars, although they wouldn’t say exactly how and where."

Thought it might be of interest.

I've had sonnyjim filtered pretty much ever since he started posting. Unfortunately I don't buy the 'naive' argument, tend to agree with those who suspect subtle de-ramping is the agenda. I could, of course be wrong, as I have not been reading his posts.

thatkieran - a daily rolling bet works out cheaper than a quarterly bet if you expect to be out within about 17 days. If you think you might be onboard longer, the quarterlies are cheaper (you can still exit early if need to). A NQ (near quarter, ie expiring September) is cheaper than a FQ bet (far quarter, expiring December or March) unless you know for certain that you will be onboard beyond the September expiry date. But it sounds to me as if you have NOT studied enough of the SBet basics - which imo is foolish, so I hope your stake is small, and that you are aware of rule changes kicking in this weekend.

PS|: Don't ask for further clarification here on a VRS-specific thread - ask the sbet company or go to a spreadbet forum - because not all of us here are fully au fait with the imminent rule changes and might inadvertently advise wrongly. And because this post itself is an off-topic mis-use of thread space!

I have sonny as a bit green re investing and jittery on share price moves or info out there, but also trading it.

Sonny

It's best not to put posts something like 'Got 6,500k shares and not selling 1 until they are £10"

Then not so long after declaring selling over 6k less than 6.5k and then buying them back gaining 100 shares(still under 6.5k). So it seems you tried other trades that went wrong.

If you are going to trade, then don't post that you intend to hold long term.

So many posters are bullish and sell into it then start the negatives hoping for a cheaper entry point than the point they sold at.

Others posters pick up on the bullish to negative to bullish trends and the post about it.

Just saying.....

Kieran, with the utmost respect, if don't understand that then I recommend you do not get involved in using SBs. Use the demo account for a while until you get a full understanding of what everything is and means, otherwise you're putting yourself at the mercy of elements beyond your control.

Just opened my first ever spreadbet account (long) on the hope of some news next week. It's with Spreadex. Hoping for a bit of guidance from you guys. When you search for vrs you get four options: rolling, sept, Dec or March. What's the difference?

Re formula 1. I think the Nanene maybe used in the new McClaren sports car 'tubs' at the Rotherham Composite s centre so not just F1..

F1 is good for an advertising aspect if we could get our name widely known to the world via it (not currently the case), however volume is small so not likey to be a large revenue driver. Agree with Neill.

Initiating discussion over mclaren isn't deramping in any way. I'm going to stop posting so much as discussion that isn't blindly positive is actively discouraged. Will keep following for the info posted by certain members

F1 is a good showcase for tech developments but not much more than that.

For example if graphene-enhanced tyres became mainstream it would give a nudge to them becoming available in the consumer market, if Continental weren't already doing so.

Here's Lewis sporting the latest light-weight crash helmet. Ooh what's in it then? Graphene. Cue commercialisation in the consumer market for bike helmets etc.
