true...there could be corporate action on this one.....i am confident chairman bought at 13.25 after the fda ruling so he must have thought it was way oversold at that price.

With all bid news around biotechs, this could also be a target.

Few months old news just reflects that ver must be very much oversold......chairman had bought at 13.25.......so who are we to argue his decision

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Specialty drug company Vernalis PLC said
executive chairman Peter Fellner on Friday bought 110,000 shares at 13.25 pence
each, lifting his beneficial holding in the company to 525,888 shares, or 0.168
pct.
Shares in Vernalis have fallen over the last month from 21p to 13.75p this
morning at 10.58, down sharply from a year high of 72 pence.
On Oct 1, the US FDA refused a new menstrual migraine indication for the
company's migraine product Frova which wiped out more than 50 pct from the value
of its shares in the first hour of trading on the day.

Jweekes I have bought back 75k, I hope you enquiries are right. Also, results are not far away and if sales are going up this is possibly for PMM and we still await Vernalis plan for FDA original block.

Well frova is approved for sale worldwide for "normal" migraine. So I suppose it goes like this - someone with menstrual migraine hears that others are using frova to releive it, so they go to their GP and say they have normal migraine and ask for frova, claiming they don't tollerate any other triptan, then use frova when menstrual migraine is anticipated. I am not saying people should do this but I understand why they might.

A very interesting e-mail from jweekes. Are you able to clarify who you have been talking to about this and how sufferers are able to get hold of it in its "non approved" state ?

I have been asking around about the prospects for frova sales after generic competition later this year. It seems that although frova is not yet approved for menstrual migraine, a large number of people are using it for this purpose. Word spreads amongst sufferers and they request frova. It can't be actively promoted for this indication of course, so I would expect a big reduction in the US sales force whilst sales actually increase. In time there could be enough data for re-submission to the FDA. So it seem that frova may be worth a lot more than I previously thought.

Half net cash is the rule of thumb in biotech; providing it survives as an independent entity. Apax have dumped its holding. VER still needs a cash call so my guess is 2.5p

Are you joking? Or have you just posted line that on every board of every share you own?

Answer: Everything is falling, VER is slightly more risky than most, so has fallen slighty more than most.

As a previous poster has noted, Imitrex (GSKs antimigraine triptan) comes off patent in the US this year, which may well impact future Frova sales.
