okay I've seen my holdings half, I only hope the director' salary is bonus related to shareholder value (i.e they don't get one!).

Does anyone know where the salary information could be located?

Morning MJ (or evening in your case),

The fall was due to a FDA issuing a "not approvable" letter for Frova for the additional indication serving menstrual migraine.

The fall imo is wildly overdone, but the company did say before the announcement that is the FDA refused they would need to seek further funding.

I contacted the company shortly afterwards and they told me that they would be looking into raising funds in the new year and the appeal to the FDA has begun, but can take up to a year to satisfy all of their new requirement.

The pipeline is strong but they needed the extra sales to cover the R and D for the next two years and it would have become a self succifient biotech company, not many of those about eh?

I had a stop in place so missed out of much of the fall but have actually bought a small amount recently so that I don't miss out if they carry out a rights issue, although I think they may go for a different kind of funding.

Alsol, I hate to sound like QAZ, but their portfolio ( mixed with this low share price has got to make them vulnerable to bigger fish, although the management have always stated that they want VER to become a pharma eventually so would resist this at all costs imo.

Just had a look in today. Ouch! My sympathies to holders, and I hope things soon reverse for you. Why the fall? From a quick scan of their financials they've got maybe a year's cash left unless sales miraculously rise to cover their R&D expenses. Are sales expected to rise fast enough, or will there be another fundraising? Thanks.

gb - all you can say is that they have done this in the past and the share price continued to drop afterwards - from memory they came to the market at about 70p and again at about 60p - not looking forward to that - it only keeps them in the lifestyle they are accustomed to - the only hope is for some good news on a new product success - jb

This stock has just dropped since my 20p trade I am now starting to worry about the long-term cash position. There have been several comments about cash flow which might lead to VER raising funds via an offering, can anyone confirm this?

I have read on III recently that VER will need to raise funds, can anyone confirm this?

The loan issue isn't a problem imo, I get the impression they will offload one of their products to plug the gap. Either that or a placing.

My worry is that they told me that the appeal proccess could take up to a year!

gordonbrown,
last wednesday vernalis ceo did a meeting in New York
I listened him in the web.
Basically he admited there is a short term loan crises for 2009.
The first quarter of 2008 in fact they will be focused on solving this problem.
They will try again to negotiate with FDA about last rejection.
and they are confident for the future of the other products pipeline.
I don`t know well this company and their market but do you think they will solve the loan issue?

MM are walking this down for a reason, just don't know why

Hi, just thought I'd pop back to see how we are doing after the consolidation?
Oh dear, not as good as some peeps were claiming is it! Looks like it went the way some of us thought. Not much chance of getting my cash back either. (Well I knew that anyway as soon as the consolidation was passed).

There will be a fundraising, the company make no secret of this. The appeal process to the FDA is going to take up to a year as well.

Whether or not it is a straight share issue, placing or another sort of funding (such as selling off a product) is not clear.

if ver have to come to the market they will not do so at these levels if they can help it - they will wait for some rebound

pharma sector came for an upgrade today but no such movement in ver - very disappointing - see gsk and others - hopping for some better news - the only thing that will lift these shares - in the meantime 10p may be the resistance level

gordonbrown, the only "turning point" with VER has been the FDA issueing a "not approvable" letter for an additional indication for VER's Frova migraine drug in October. A turning down point.

there has to be a turning point to VER, this company has money and products.

if the MM are walking this down to 10p then I expect a jump back up once who ever has brought, who said we live a free country!!

sorry if I'm bitter however sitting on a £5k loss after buying in at 20p!!

the_doctor, it really is true; you cannot beat a good old fashioned long position for a few hundred £k and then just sitting back and waiting for it to mature nicely, whilst accumulating more on the dips. You should try it some time, e.g. Alizyme (DYOR).

He'd be down a couple of hundred thousand on AZM if that were true!

VOW, odd you should follow my Post 551 (above) on the VER thread with a response on the unconnected AZM thread. This both suggests you DO still hold VER and are intent on disrupting the AZM thread. Consequently, if anything, it is you who looks "sad" (to use your words on the AZM thread) particularly as you have also been stopped-out of AZM several times.

I always warned you about the inevitability of losing money on margin deals. You cannot beat a good old fashioned long position for a few hundred £k and then just sitting back and waiting for it to mature nicely, whilst accumulating more on the dips. Your lack of experience really shows.

P.S.
VER have further to fall imo.
