Asked about income ideas here a while back and eventually decide to opt for PHNX after "due diligence". Also considered others like LGEN and CSN seriously. So far looks like my choice was OK. Quite strong after good results today.

Been browsing IDEA.
Looks like steady 10% organic growth plus acquisitions.
Consolidating sector.
Keep people from the acquisitions.
Customers should be sticky.
If well managed, should turn into a cash cow.
Management look OK.
A whole lot of horribly slick videos.
Balance sheet traditionally difficult - prints loads of new shares and capitalises development costs.
Similar to PTSG in that it is consolidating a niche area.
Always seen as over-valued by commentators.

I now need to look at the competition.

The state of modern day AAA gaming:

There are an increasing number of "influencers" ranting on the subject of games from the big developers.

Personally I think anyone investing in an established AAA game publisher now has missed the boat.

Apologies for the colourful commentary in the links.

PURP taking a beating. I've moved into a smallish loss. Will wait and see how day unfolds. Only a small position.FDEV still moving up - only been in it a few weeks. I wouldn't look at anything starting 'frontier' because assumed it was mining! Interesting company. Large share holding by founder.ZOO and BVXP - might get news on both over the next month.

Hunting headlining EBITDA - always a bad sign - but it seems to be crawling out of the mire.

PMO looks like a survivor, but they must be desperate for an increase in oil price with their debt mountain.

Viridor and the Manchester waste contract is resolved. Pennon used to be a favourite of mine until I realised that they were not making a success of EfW activities.

Sopheon remains a puzzle to me. Headline numbers didn't look all that impressive at first glance.

BVXP strength must be in anticipation of news, I suppose.

Stairway is now 0.8% of its high :-(

I was briefly in IDEA working upto the results in 2013 but I had objections to the PRISM contract ...strange coincidence, different meaning... then.
It was terminated however.

GAW is over 40 years old. It has a large following in Europe, us, uk with the us its biggest market.

The main driver will be the growing middle classes in the far eat. Far bigger middle class populations than the west and GAW has only just started focus on the area with a HK office.

Yes janeanne well done for sticking it out on PRSM.
I was also one of the first into it in April 2016 and delighted to find it, as I had read so much about the emergence of the robotic technology by then.
Bought at about 112 or something and have held throughout its journey taking some profits along the way.

ps
IDEA seems to have an awful lot of intangible assets.
I never really know how to understand these - you can't smoke them after all.

Have not used GAW for a while.......kids are now at Uni.

It used to be a very safe place to leave the kids, and very well run by the staff, everyone got a game.

This was when Lord of the Rings became big.

As I understand it, the latest rise has been because they now do on line gameing....don't know.

Do you own IDEA, Panic?
I'm impressed with their website.
Software is amazingly cash generative iff you can protect it.

Up 30% YTD not good enough for you, j!

Gaw - I think revenue from internet gaming is what I didn't account for.

well I sold dph at about £18!!! at least you are back in and in profit!!

Idea - although its had a good rise (and fall) it seems to have been a long time (for me at least) getting anywhere. Would I btfd? Not sure and Im not adding at present. Someone bought a mere 170k this morning tho - all marked as late trades.

GAW
I know, j.
We might be proved right though.
A load of middle aged pillocks collecting little models!

IDEA has a wide range of sectors it supplies and a niche sector (like RWS). My sort of company. Not a lot of jobs on offer.
Management look OK.
Seems to be off the radar.
I came sooo close to buying it back in the day.
Thanks for the Amati link. I thought it was all about Amati really.

Amusingly, I bought a few DPH to remind me of what a chump I was to sell it and it's already up over 10%. Unfortunately it's 28% up over my average sale price.

Still don't understand HLMA's stasis.

IDEA - I hold. Another software supplier including to NHS. From memory, increasing levels of recurring revenue and dividend. One concern for me is whether any NHS changes will affect the level of use of their servicies.

mentioned by rivaldo - recent Amati Global Investors have issued their August newsletter, and in it there's a spotlight on BVXP and IDEA

ps I dismissed GAW a while back on grounds it was a short lived fad!

pps Ta for the comment on PRSM: I did a few days ago a comparison graph (using HLs platform) of PRSM and FEVR - quite interesting to compare the 2. Couldn't post the plot on here.

PRSM up 118% in your competition entry, j. Bloody well done I reckon.
That I was sceptical is neither here nor there.
I don't understand GAW or SPE either :-)
