Apad, Thanks for your response , I have added to my holding now. It does GaN the same as IQE, but IQE must be unique in 3D sensors. It is the only company I know that does high voltage multi layer ceramic semiconductors used in mission critical applications.

I took a £500 IQE profit the other day when the day traders seemed to be running the show. I'm feeling a strong urge to get back in which probably means there will be a correction. I had that effect on ACSO and BVXP, I'm trying hard to not chase what's hot. I worked for an American company which had a chip fab plant which was outgrown by the progress of technology. Lines etched on silicon get smaller and smaller and it wasn't suitable for the latest equipment because of building vibration. Imagine using a hand held telephoto lens and camera and you'll get the idea. This is a very capital intensive business and my employer got INTEL to do the fabrication for them. So I assume for the moment IQE has a lead on the competition.

IQE just keep on rising. Well done Big7ime! Hope it keeps rising for your sake and does not turn negative for any reason. I cannot see any particular reason for the latter I must add. Just saying. Sweenoid is someone who could be added to the list of worthwile posters on ADVFN. He certainly sticks with companies long term once he believes in them!

This week I have sold my holding in Trifast PLC, TRI, for a modest 7% gain. The 14Jun Prelims showed a small improvement in rev and the 27Jul TU stated that business was moving in line with management expectations. But they also say they expect some purchase price challenges arising out of the weakness of Sterling and the relative strength of the US$. They predict the global fastenings mkt will grow by only 5% over the next 5yrs. On balance, I believe the company to be sound and the div yld of around 1.4% is safely covered around 3 or 4x. However, share price progress has stalled somewhat for now and is trending firmly sideways so I intend to move the capital to something more active. Probably still a sound share for patient holders, but not for me.

PI, re IQE, what do you reckon about the Gap that formed on Monday morning, just above 1.30? I think it's a Common or Area Gap. Even if it is a Breakaway, it looks likely to be filled, but could represent a good support zone.

ABC is a great BTFD share.

Been looking at FARN again. Could be a time to increase at £7. Interims early September.
However, there is no reason to believe that the financial timetable and the trial newsflow are related.

Yes Apad. The puppy is behaving badly. Jim Mellon says I should be patient though! Oh heck. I have a history of buying into companies and then getting bored and then they start to do well after my sale. FUTR, COA, CINE, ARM, G4M are just a few!

At least we agree on BVXP! ;-)

Joking apart, good friend was cycling in France whilst on holiday a few years ago.
He came across a fellow cyclist and threw out a few pleasantries to a 'fellow enthusiast'. When he looked closely at the guy, he recognised that it was indeed the great Hinault.

Will pop into Cgs AGM today.
Waiting for the doom report on 'C'.
Amazed to see that the Palace Hotel, round the corner from Fawlty Towers, has been sold to a Singapore outfit. Closed for now - No civilized afternoon tea for the time being :-(

I should add, Lauders, that I am very comfortable with my BVXP holding.
Sniffing around the negatives again.
After all, the positives are obvious.

Only had time for a quick look at Kemet, mod.
Different animal from IQE because of the broad range of both traditional and new products.
Hell's knickers have you seen the job vacancies!
Been independent since 1992 is important.
Warning - my field is cracks in safety-critical kit. Like nuclear submarines and aircraft. Although I have been associated with silicon folk I have never played in that field.
I'll try to have a look at it some more, but off to the UK tomorrow. Initial impression is positive. Haven't looked at the accounts.

IQE - I am not "wrong" Big.
I just don't know!
I can see positives, negatives, contradictions and stuff I don't understand. I think they are all in my posts.
I think I also posted a query on the IQE board about a reference to large wafers at another company -usual fan based response, waste of bloody time.
I think I look for negatives as well as positives, more than most. Especially when I own a share.
Anyroadup, I have made my decision and wish those who have done the opposite well.
If the positives win out it will be a very good business, but Scaredy Cat is bristling.

Back from the Rance. Pas de Lycra, red, it does make one sweat .... a lot. I used to time trial and flappy clothes make for drag when you are 2 secs of an hour for 20 miles.
MAMIL - Middle Aged Men In Lycra.

I read the Kingham, CLLN article. Although it is hindsight it is good. I suppose the message is that a combination of acquisition and large competitive contracts, even after a decade of great performance, is potentially toxic.
It is still about 20% shorted - something of a surprise.

One concern with BVXP is the wording of that May rns. "It has come to our notice that Seimens..." the day after I emailed Harrison asking if they were using BVXP troponin. I would have expected some news by now - probably just impatience.

I have decided my position on FFX (subscribed) is rational to the extent that I do prefer companies that have sector expertise on the board. Not a banker running an engineering company. This is a banker wanting to run a bank. He's in a hurry though, and I am amazed that the price has held so high above the 58p placing.

GSK is now 10% below my exit price so has probably turned into a bank until the next results. ROR also 10% below my exit, but I won't be buying it again. Given the better than expected results WEIR is now 4% below my exit. I note that Wood Group is shorted.
SPX bump has settled down - this is my BTFD option.

"Never sell Fever-Tree" is the Anita Brookner update.

PURP is hilarious. Concerted effort to try and bring the price down seems to have failed. However, no doubt it will whipsaw some more. Like I said before it might not be the winner but online/hybrid EAs will gain a huge share of market over time.

final results from arc - with expected maiden dividend of 1p. Finncap broker note has a tp of 85p up from their previous 7op. Down 3 at present - slightly disappointed at the market response but brexit may raise concerns for future earnings.
