20/4/2007 11:33 | union- customers don't behave like that. They need to be sold to by pro-active, incentivised sales people. | bobby.ifa
20/4/2007 10:56 | Sounds a bit aspirational to me. It would be better if the customers were looking for them rather than the other way round. They don't seem to have any close-to-signing targets. | unionhall
20/4/2007 10:31 | anyone see anything in today's announcement that we didn't already expect? obviously it's upbeat, but is there anything there that isn't already in the price...? | danski
20/4/2007 10:23 | Universe Group PLC 20 April 2007 For immediate release: 20 April 2007 Universe Group PLC Result of EGM Universe Group PLC, ('Universe' or 'the Company'), the retail and loyalty systems company, is pleased to announce that at the Company's Extraordinary General Meeting, held earlier today, all of the resolutions, which relate to the proposed placing of 42,857,143 new ordinary shares at 7.0p per share to raise £3.0 million before expenses (the 'Placing'), were duly passed. The new ordinary shares are expected to be admitted to trading on AIM with effect from 8.00 am on 23 April 2007. John Scholes, Chairman of Universe said: 'The Company has a new management team and a new strategy for growth. We were pleased to have received significant institutional investment support for this Placing, raising £3.0 million. We have also negotiated a new banking facility with HBOS. With a strong financial and operational platform in place, and a keener focus on our product offering, the challenge is now to invest in sales and marketing and deliver on our growth strategy.' He added: 'The short-term environment is favourable with legislative and regulatory drivers such as Stage II Vapour Recovery which is requiring many of the UK's petrol retailers to upgrade their pumps and forecourt systems. Alongside this we intend to focus on multi-national petrol retailing companies, who we believe are focusing increasingly on customer loyalty, not only in the UK but also across many of the countries in which they operate. We look forward to updating shareholders on our progress in due course.' | sharestriker
02/4/2007 16:26 | Well todays another mystery odd sells amounting to 50,000 and a buy of 150,000 - no share price movement? Its back to any ideas again. I`m clueless as usual! | verynervy
30/3/2007 21:19 | guess we just have to grin and bear it. i got in at 10p. considered selling out even. kind of wish i had... but we'll get there eventually... | danski
30/3/2007 20:17 | Very true especially as they are looking to raise more cash buy releasing another large amount of shares at 7p per share. Sell em to the institutions at that price and they will do the usual, wait a couple of weeks for the price to climb a little and then sell, they make a nice profit and we all get stuck in the low price doldrums untill the sells have all cleared. | chris nuttall
30/3/2007 09:46 | Back to same downward path! | verynervy
27/3/2007 08:45 | danski - has TW done an update on this? | tsmith2
27/3/2007 08:23 | results out and eveything done and dusted - Co very upbeat about prospects, financing in place, good growth story. | tsmith2

26/3/2007 13:05 | inverse head and shoulders | tsmith2
26/3/2007 09:45 | Don't know about that - may have no connection. The 374k buy is about 0.57% and will only require disclosure under rule 8.3 if the holder had/has more than 1% of voting rights (or something like that - dyor). Agree that action sometime is quite likely but could be some months away imo. If the buyer was in a hurry he would be inching the price up. ...[PS 12.45pm].... and perhaps he is! | boadicea
26/3/2007 09:29 | yes looks good - so the withdrawn announcement did mean something???? | verynervy
26/3/2007 09:16 | up again - early days but getting confident that we could see action | tsmith2
26/3/2007 09:03 | Friday's large (374k) late-published trade appeared to be priced as a 'sell'. However, share price had been incremented from the Thursday so it would have been at previoius mid-price and I read it as a 'buy'. It also neatly balances up the excess of 'sells' over the previous two weeks. The fact that an mm took on so many without dropping the price implies that he knew a buyer was waiting imho. I'm looking for the process to be repeated which would be interesting. | boadicea
25/3/2007 16:31 | we could do with an explanation | tsmith2
25/3/2007 10:48 | I did wonder at the time how they had managed to pick them up at 7p! I`m clutching at straws here but maybe this has been marked down over time so as to fill their order for 4.5 million at 7p ? | doughboy66
24/3/2007 08:25 | Your explanations seem most likely! | verynervy
23/3/2007 15:38 | this statement has just been withdrawn-how peculiar! | verynervy
23/3/2007 13:06 | Hargreave Hale ups stake in Universe Group to 6.91 pct LONDON (AFX) - Hargreave Hale Ltd said it has bought 4.50 mln shares of Universe Group PLC at 7 pence each, taking Hargreave's stake to about 4.53 mln shares, or 6.91 pct of Universe's share capital. In December, Universe said it had received and rejected a number of unsolicited approaches to acquire the company, but, given the interest and "disappointing share price performance", it was considering seeking further offers. | doughboy66 |
