16/9/2006 11:57 | mercedes, a 12 months wait now, with the loading into next year as well as sale of Master Change, then its all gearing up for interims 07, but until then it will drift I think and do nothing. If more people sell then no doubt it will drop more. If your going to hold and average down, then wait to later summer 07 and get in before the interims then I would say. | papalpower
16/9/2006 10:45 | Merc.. I'm same as you mate .. stitched up! nearly 50% down... could kick myself for getting into something that was duffer.. Sold half my holding on thursday.. will get rid of the rest on Monday. Cutting my losses....plenty of other shares that are better bets. Don't see the point in waiting for this to go down to 7/8p and then ? It could go up when there's an announcement at the end of the month but it'll from a lower share price than this (IMHO) | rcktmn
16/9/2006 09:33 | Acor/pap I`m now down over 65% on these.so it`s too late to get out. Just hang on and hope. I do not see much chance of a big upward movement in the next few months wihout some good news...where from though I do not know!! So much for following the ceo............. merc | mercedes
15/9/2006 16:31 | about 7 years ago on bloomberg a broker was raveing about UNG expencting it to go to a pound. the directors have been buying from before that.the dividend and the fact directors were buying led me to buy with a cashed in endowerment policy thinking i couldnt do any worse than the policy well well bad stock pick and no divi | acornoptical
08/9/2006 20:49 | It's imaginative to see all the reasons why we shouild retain our holding in UNG. WE all know we have been wrong and guilty of bad share picking.I reiterate my main popint that there is no future in UNG remaining in the market and we shall have to grin and bear it. | rabbrooks
08/9/2006 20:37 | Yes - fairly grim, especially if you're in a hurry. I must confess, I bought this not as a recovery prospect under its own steam (which could take some time and involve raising more capital) but because, stripped of the French currency op, HTEC would quite likely prove attractive to a predator. | boadicea
08/9/2006 18:03 | that settles it then ! it's still grim though ! | rcktmn
08/9/2006 17:09 | Dividend - It's clearly flagged in the report - there won't be one. "The capital released by the disposal of the bureau business will reduce our net debt and we are committed to maintaining low gearing. Accordingly, having reduced the dividend in past years, WE WILL WITHDRAW FROM THE DIVIDEND LISTS [my caps] for the present time to enable the cash saved to be used for the expansion of the business." | boadicea
08/9/2006 16:34 | Seems not.... there was none declared in the figures section.. Grim isn't it ! | rcktmn
08/9/2006 14:55 | NO DIVIDEND? | acornoptical
08/9/2006 14:49 | 'ere we go... going down ! TL,, don't disagree with you.. however, it looks as though it's going to drift down until we get the sale announcement at end of month... then who knows what'll happen ? I should really sell as it's gone thru my stop loss level but i might hang on a bit with this one and see what happens. | rcktmn
08/9/2006 08:48 | UNG is still very dull, unless the sale of the Bureau is very beneficial, there is nothing else to suggest that anything else exciting is going to happen. They need a much bigger injection of funds to go on an aquisition spree and build the business up... until then, time to hibernate for the winter! | rcktmn
08/9/2006 08:27 | The value of property on balance sheet is £1.8M. There may also be some goodwill value arising from the name but I doubt it. Even if it is sold at £2M, it wont be quite enough to pay off babk debt. This continual cost from discontinued ops is also a worry. Many cos in the sector are saying that orders are being delayed so I suppose it depends on the economic climate over next 6 months. | mo123
08/9/2006 07:59 | Currency Division There have been significant changes in this Division. Last year Universe sold the First Remit business to Travelex Money Transfer Ltd. Since the AGM in May 2006, the Board has embarked on selling the Bureau business in Paris. This has attracted a lot of interest and the Board has selected one of the bidders, with whom we have exchanged a Letter of Intent, to have the exclusive right to buy the business up to 30 September 2006. We have written off the goodwill arising on the acquisition of this business. Hopefully it will be sold this month. | sharestriker
08/9/2006 07:23 | In the meantime the share price has no where to go 'cept down ! It's still dull and NOT inspirational...Sale of bureau business proceeding, jam tomorrow as always ! Can't see anything positive going to happen to the share price it's going down to 6-7p imho should we stay and take a hit or should we put ourselves out of our misery and go ! I'll think on it....but by the time I've decided what to do the share price would have gone down probably 8 SEPTEMBER 2006 UNIVERSE GROUP PLC INTERIM RESULTS FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30 JUNE 2006 Universe Group plc ('Universe' or the 'Company'), the AIM listed retail and information systems company, is pleased to announce its interim results for the six months to 30 June 2006. Commenting, Ray Mackie, Chairman of Universe, said: 'We are confident that an improvement in trading in the second half year will result in a satisfactory outcome for the full year, and that trading next year will benefit from the delay in roll-outs from 2006 to 2007 by two of our major customers. | rcktmn
08/9/2006 07:20 | The reason for the fall is explained in the roll out delay ! Howver, the sale of Master Change should make the interims in 2007 very nice reading. 12 months to wait. | papalpower
07/9/2006 12:10 | How dull this company is ! very boring.. must be about to get the interims out.. last yr i believe it was 9th Sept ? The recent small rise was just a "blip" as share price gone back down.. a false dawn.. C'mon UNG, do something inspirational ! | rcktmn
01/9/2006 16:09 | I WISH MY BRAKE EVEN WAS 17P TRY TWICE THAT | acornoptical
01/9/2006 13:42 | Good grief ! You're right ! It's gone up... though bid needs to get to 17p before I'm breaking even... | rcktmn
01/9/2006 13:36 | I managed to 40,000 ay 13p and it moved the share price Purchase not shown up yet. | bobby.ifa
01/9/2006 11:20 | Yes, grim isn't it.... be nice to be surprised by some good news and for a positive share price reaction... My fear is that the share price will continue to drift down..we didn't get a rally going into the interims... Yes, I'm in for the long term but that started more than 6 months ago... so the medium term is here.. what happens now ? | rcktmn
01/9/2006 10:48 | Interims due on Monday, yet not even a cheap on this site for ages. Looks ominous. | rabbrooks |
