09/1/2007 23:09 | I didnt really expect any more from UNG than what we got today. A placing at 6 pence was obviously all they could offer to get any institution to buy into the story. At 6p though, you would imagine that a) your unlikely to get an offer for the business at all or b) if you do get an offer expect a pretty it to be pretty low. My bet is that they announce no one wants to buy the company and that they will need to issue more shares for working capital purposes. Dog with fleas is all that befits UNG. | nickcduk
09/1/2007 21:53 | Company is obviously ashamed of the following announcement and have sneaked it out at 5.35pm. (Probably weren't quite ready with it on New Year's eve.) ADVFN have (inadvertently) assisted by removing all formatting to the notices being viewed at the moment which makes the notification even more indigestible than normal. There will probably be a 6p overhang now for the foreseeable future. "WE WAS MUGGED." EDIT (10th Jan) - I see we have some formatting back on advfn notices today. | boadicea
07/1/2007 15:47 | IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF MACKIE HAD BEEN ASKED TO LEAVE NOW. I PRESUME HE HAS INSISTED THAT HE REQUIRES A BOARD SEAT TO REPRESENT HIS SHAREHOLDING. AN ENCOURAGED SALE OF HIS SHARES AT THE TIME OF PLACING WOULD BE SENSIBLE IN ORDER TO REMOVE HIM. LET'S HOPE THE NEW BOARD FACES CAN PROGRESS HIS DEPARTURE SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.I WONDER IF HE REALLY ATTEMPTED TO SELL THE PARIS BUSINESS WITH ANY CONVICTION. | rabbrooks
05/1/2007 20:57 | Given its history, a certain amount of cynicism about this turn of events is only to be expected. Whether it proves to be a turning point only time will tell. The placing will be dilutive but is modest, the gain being a healthier balance sheet and lower financial costs. Other incidental effects will depend on the quality of the placees - overhang etc. If I were a cynic I might suggest the contract delay was not unwelcome. By deferring income, the current results can be forecast to look worse, thereby perhaps appearing to justify a lower placing price than might have otherwise seemed reasonable. The newly financed company can then shortly follow up with a sparkling improvement in its results (or forecasts). As a relative newcomer to UNG without too much at stake I will await events and maybe even consider increasing the stake if the price reaction at any stage appears unreasonably adverse. However, note that I refer to 'stake' rather than investment! P.S. (Edit) It would be interesting to know how much overhead is stripped out by the divestment of Bellword. | boadicea
05/1/2007 20:02 | Re post 45: "a guy associated with a pump 'n' dump business" I don't understand your comment Jak. Care to elaborate? | wiganer
05/1/2007 16:10 | afternoon all i have held rtd shares until TO since card clear and rtd and ung have been not to well liked by the city, this imho will move lower until give away pe of 5, then you might see someone coming in at 12 - 15p or even mackie himself. I do not hold i sold mine on the rtd demerger in jan 00. I always hunt for unloved fear priced in stocks this is heading towards this especially with TW mentioned do not trust him his friend is EVIL K, dyor active | srpactive
05/1/2007 14:30 | there's nothing in the statement that alters 2007 forecasts detrimentally - the selling is very little. Purely a deferral and not a cancellation. Buying opportunity!!! 2007 EPS = 1.3p (will be higher because of above) P/E of 7.7 - far too low. I note TW had a buy on this based on 2007 expectation at 16p - easy 50% from here and that even before any action Placing - will be around 10p, company ain't desperate for the cash at all | tsmith2
05/1/2007 13:57 | Merc, I've been in since card clear as well and got my retail decisions cheque last week. For what its worth, I think UNG will be O.K, you only have to look at some of the deals they've signed lately to see this. I'd keep this for a while and I am tempted to top up if it gets into single figures in an expectation of a takeover play. Regards, mad Bob! | bobby.ifa
05/1/2007 12:57 | Im not sure I expected any more of UNG than what we have got today. Mackie isn't hanging around, which suggests that a takeover for the whole of UNG is either no where near being completed or will not happen at all. My bet is on the latter. If a deal were close Mackie would have stuck around instead of going out and hiring new management. To compound matters, they issue another profits warning, and worse still another placing for working capital purposes. How much cash does this company seem to burn up? My bet is another announcement isnt far off saying talks have broken down and that another placing is needed. | nickcduk
05/1/2007 12:25 | No I'm not, if you look at the trading pattern of this share you'll find that its a regular occurance.Buy and hold for a few months and you'll be rewarded. | bobby.ifa

05/1/2007 09:24 | Time to top up boys and girls. | bobby.ifa
05/1/2007 09:21 | This share is about speculators - they bought when the expected more good news and are selling as nothing is forthcomming and it is about the little punter who has believed the story but has been let down time and time again! | verynervy
03/1/2007 21:35 | Bit frustrating when they drop. I will keep holding at present, just read the news history back to last results, seems to be a lot going on with no bad news. | dealit
03/1/2007 17:24 | Down again we go.................. Anyone give me a reason to hang on.....been here since card clear days. I have done very well with its brother RTD but this is loosing most of the gains I made there. Merc | mercedes

11/12/2006 07:25 | Great RNS, but no figures on the contract. Why? Looks like the steady rise of late came from some leakage of news in my opinion, hope it continues to prosper. | bobby.ifa
08/12/2006 13:37 | A nice T trade just gone through at 15.75 A few weeks back we would of been excited about this sort of price and although volume isn`t massive its not bad for UNG. | doughboy66
08/12/2006 13:11 | Ticking back up slowly so hopefully some good news not to far away. | doughboy66 |
