With the market cap of UNG falling all the time, the proposed buyer of the bureau side can haggle for a better deal (they might even get the whole of UNG soon for the price of the bureau say 6 months ago ?? )

What has happened to the sale of the bureau business? Shouldn't we have had an update on this by now. I thought the proposed purchaser had sole right to buy up to the end of September so it looks like this hasn't gone through.

The other problem now is credibility. It seems unlikely UNG can survive in even it's new proposed structure. Disaster for everyone . Dilemma is do we take what we can get now and write off the losses.

Trouble is mercedes there is no good news until you get to Interims late next year. They have already said full year figures will be below as work has shifted into H1 2007..........

In light of that its going to be unloved for at least another 9 months......

some very bright people in the city do not rate the c/exec very highly in fact i was told he is a little mad.
unfortunatley i bought this share and against my better judgment am holding
hoping that things will get better.
has anyome met with the company to offer an opinion?

The question really is how low can this share go.

They say that this share price is about 16/25p maximum,
what does everybody else think.

The director share purchases represent a tiny dot in the picture. You could spend more on an Autumn holiday then the value of their purchases.Hopefully the new prospective owners of RTD will consume this unappetising morsel.

There is one item of possible news this week.

There have been significant changes in this Division. Last year Universe sold
the First Remit business to Travelex Money Transfer Ltd. Since the AGM in May
2006, the Board has embarked on selling the Bureau business in Paris. This has
attracted a lot of interest and the Board has selected one of the bidders, with
whom we have exchanged a Letter of Intent, to have the exclusive right to buy
the business up to 30 September 2006. We have written off the goodwill arising
on the acquisition of this business.

Rightly or wrongly, I draw two conclusions from the above announcement-
1 The medium term prospects of the company are seen to be reasonably positive and
2 There are no prospective developments of any importance about to be announced (otherwise it would be a case of insider knowledge).
My corresponding expectation is that we shall bump along the bottom, or perhaps a little above it, for a couple of months at least, unless a surprise event occurs.

Directors' Shareholding


Universe Group plc (the 'Company') announces that Ray Mackie, a Director of the
Company has today purchased 25,000 shares in the Company at 10.2 pence per
share.

Following this transaction Ray Mackie is beneficially interested in 8,537,397
shares representing 13.0 per cent. of the issued share capital.

Furthermore, the Company announces that as a result of the purchase on 25
September 2006 of 27,000 ordinary shares at 9 3/4 pence per share by the
Universe Trustees (no.2) Limited in connection with the Universe Group plc Long
Term Incentive Plan, the following directors have increased their beneficial
shareholdings in respect of the above mentioned shares as follows:

Really, as I said before, with the delays to rollout their prelim figures will support around the 10p to 12p level...BUT, in 11 months time their interims should be very very nice.

One to buy in summer weakness of 2007 IMO :)

Yes, I'm slightly disappointed in PP.....although, with respect, he did get EKY right at the beg of this yr...EKY are just about to release the're next set of results so hoping for little more upside there.(imho)
