You got a better chance of predicting the lottery numbers than the share price here. Looks like the market makers have taken everyone to the cleaners by taking it up this morning and then down...what crooks does not change...

To think that it could be down 20% after sucking everyone in on a 5% rise. Let’s face it, it is wrong.

The risk here is clearly the combination of the debt the oil price and the fact that mgmt have no room for error. If they pull off the great escape holders will be very well rewarded.

Loafofbread & Sbb1x Thanks. I try my best. I can assure you i put a lot of effort into researching the subject and trying to provide balance and a reasoned argument.

Smartie6 Coffee is supposed to keep you awake....not provide a wake up call.
The expression I think you are looking for is “wake up and smell the coffee” and you would be well advised to do so.

Oh well. No changes to guidance with this update but obviously some cannot read. I was initially annoyed when Ms Thompson took such radical action...but in retrospect the mismanagement, in relation to controlling central costs and procurement, meant that this may ultimately prove to be the best course of action. It does not surprise me that she will not revise up her original production downgrade for a few months...which has been very destabilising to the share price...but let’s see what she has to say in March when the planned maintenance upgrade of the FPSO is complete (and we can see the new flow rates achieved) with the full year results. In the meantime i am sure the analysts will react like a flock of sheep to events with downbeat commentary...bunch of muppets.

The great thing about the oil industry is the basic fungibility of production. We know that Jubilee has one of the lowest operating costs per barrel and best operating terms in the industry. Tullows cash requirements peaked some years ago and cash is thrown off by operations. If Uganda is sold we should be back with a three figure share price. I will not sell now because in my view disposals, farm outs or even an offer is a given if the price remains this depressed. Instead i intend to build up a substantial position on weakness. What a gift...perhaps I should thank Sentiment Rules after all. Cheers mate !
