Idf this opens up, i fully expect close to be back in the 50's. And down thereafter. Il add short if a gap up in the morn - without hesitation

But i doubt that happens. Cant find 2p of city money playing this bar maybe loans to shorter orders

Yes.

What credible fund can deal here now? You have to break it down to wealthy clients these days. Cant be done

And any client with 20 million and about to give a build order to the desk, aint going to ask for tullow

Funds here would have to speculate the commodity back in its 50's WTI

THe economy at near record highs (most like to pump in during recession

And a company with circa 2.9 billion debt and prospects not looking good

And a CEO who will be handcuffed by the debt, whatever he tries to do

...........

Take that to the desk manager at 0803 in the morn, 70p or 40p...bet you get sacked

you will usually find a minimum of 90% long in most brokers. Not too many short. Some also include bull sells as reduction in longs for a two week period so sometimes thats seen/skewed as short. Not really...

Stumpy sometimes the issue with that is, the market opens well up on retail buy orders. But the city use it to dump out... so the strategy of buying after data - needs a clear vision of how the overall looks to the city

In my mind (fair enough), they dump on a high price where willing buyers (retail), exist

Dont think this can win tomorrow regardless

Once it went to Moody B2 - too speculative. Most funds will/should, only operate sell side desk

You would appreciate that if a client right? Get us outta here best price

That's not such a big surprise. There'll be plenty sat out, it's just highlighting that there is a clear view that the short trade is dangerous. I have to say, without some in depth knowledge of what's going on I prefer to sit out over scheduled news.

Agee with you wodahsnoom. Alfiex, I don't think todays share price action tells you anything about the announcement other than it's a bit risk off for out of hours news.

See tomorrow's best case scenario for news as neutral given its only 5 weeks since last rns, but with TLW you just never know

Guyana topped the oil discovery charts again in 2019 with the Liza field coming onstream in December and another billion barrels added in the Exxon operated Stabroek licence with some more gas also. The five commercial discoveries in 2019 bring the total so far to 14 but it wasn’t all plain sailing. The Tullow operated JV made two play opening discoveries that first sounded promising but turned out to be heavy and sour, contributing to a dramatic fall from grace for Tullow with its share price crashing.

Already the oil volume discovered and planned for development is far more than the tiny economy of Guyana can handle and the pace may have to slow 2020 if Guyana is to cope. There is still much to learn about both the plumbing of the petroleum system and the robustness of the political system – expect more surprises.

Bootycall, a lot of what you say on the positive side is the reason why I topped up at 49p to mitigate the loss I suffered on TLW - provided there are no major negative surprises tomorrow as we have seen in the past then I think I can recoup and possibly move to a profit. TLW need a new CEO that has a good reputation in the industry and we need to focus exploration on Guyana and not some random prospect in Peru (as an example). Operationally, tighten up on all o/s issues and start to reduce costs (again) given we took 500ml out over 3 years and have obviously allowed them to increase again.

This share can recover, but it needs continued decisive action, much improved comms and a commitment to no more cover ups.
