Tullow has significant assets. The only question is what are such worth currently, or when on the block with company under severe distress.

Incorrect... Tullow is not under sever distress. In fact it is not distressed. This is conjured up on internet forums such as this.
The company has stated very clearly that it has FCF to service debt even on the revised production outputs. It has no worries about servicing debt.
It has in excess of $1 Billion headroom.
This is not severe distress.
The current share price is because of leveraged PI's, auto set stop losses, and fear of being left stranded when details are not known.. (Following the herd and then asking... "Why did we run?")

Even the press with their overwhelming desire to paint everything like a doomsday chapter failed to conjur up stories of debt being an issue, as it isnt...
We collectively have to take responsibility for the crash...
Trading (Gambling if you include CFD's and SB's has become all to easy)
lessons clearly have not been learnt from recent history.
At least it was something with these gambling houses refusing to allow people to use credit cards to finance their gambles.

I took an option on the afternoon rumour hoping to take advantage of any arbitrage opportunity between the lunchtime rumour and afternoon rumour. The rumour index (RIX) is hitting all time highs with rumours circling that the underlying rumours maybe subject to downgrade by the rumour ratings companies (R&P).It's all rumours of course.

Highly doubtful that Tullow will go bust as some naysayers are claiming.

Why?
Tullow has significant assets. The only question is what are such worth currently, or when on the block with company under severe distress.

They certainly wont be valued at levels the optimists have pencilled in. But they wont be worthless either and much will depend on a variety of factors - Poo being a key one.

Ultimately Market Cap:Debt implies a D4E swap will be in the offing. The chance of such increases/decreases on POO falls/rises respectively in the first instance, determining as it will cash flows and the willingness of banks to maintain credit facilities in place...

Anyone who thinks there is not a high chance of an offer at these levels is off their rocker..

With lots of press also jumping on this suggesting "Bargains Deals" to be made.
IMO, it will not happen.
We witnessed yesterday a furore of herd mentality but still many shares held at much higher prices than todays. Any partial sale providing it nets a good return will be welcomed as it will further remove the opportunistic doomsayers chat about debt issues.
The remaining board are adamant they can service debt and that it is not an issue (And why would it be with projected FCF even based on what we hope are worst case projections)
The Oil price is essentially a potential/possible mute point, but that is and always will be... And many other producers will find themselves backs against the wall if an oil collapse were to happen.
One would hope that recent history will show and demonstrate that to allow oil to collapse is not a prudent thing to allow to happen, and it does appear that OPEC are finally agreeing to this with more cuts recently announced. (The Saudis also have Aramaco to satisy, so very very unlikely they will welcome volatility like we saw a few years back)..
After yesterdays shenanigans there are many hundreds (Thousands) of us waiting with baited breath for news to start flowing....

Holding RNS's
Joe Commercially viable or not.
Director purchases.
New CEO
Uganda Tax implications update
New Exploration Exec
Carapa
Asset sale interest
The list is pretty well endless...

This is where "I want my cake and I want it now mentality comes through"

Apparently they've had a 'culture of fear' at Tullow:

But I reckon that precipitous share drop yesterday must've helped then get over it. Apparently TLW has set a record this year (according to the Telegraph) for an share price fall without actually going into administration.

So if the business isn't broke, it has to recover.
