Whites, the problem is that you're doing exactly the same thing now that you did when you bought after it dropped from 240 to 145. You're convincing yourself that it represents value. You are in the grips of a bad case of confirmation bias. That announcement was very important yesterday and the market understood it. In an ideal world it might have been nice the share price rerating was more orderly and that might have meant it didn't go so low, but it did need to rerate. Now we have to find out where the market believes this represents value.

If yesterday's crash was nothing to do with Carapa results leaking then a JOG like recovery could be on the cards here (if sweet light oil is found in the cretaceous). If a discovery is made and Total make an offer for a bit of TLW's stake then the debt profile could suddenly look a lot better. In with a small punt at these levels.

#TLW recovering nicely here. Combination of II selling done and shorts closing out will be adding fuel to this rise. Stupidly overdone yesterday and still a long way to go until it gets to fair value. Sitting duck for a takeover currently imo

Nah. Very different case. 60-70p coming easily. It was ridiculously over sold yesterday. Not even a rights issue coming. Common sense will return today and tomorrow.


I wonder what people read that was different to others to create so much fear.

A revised output. Down by some 14%
A cessation of paying a dividend.
The ousting of 2 execs (Which people had been calling for)
An acknowledgement they need to be prudent with cash.
An explanation for rig downtime.
A reassurance that debt could be serviced.
An acknowledgement they had > $1 Billion headroom.
The statement no near term debt was due.
A reaffirmation certain assets could be for sale.

If you bag it all up then there really was no need for the hysteria..
Even the press are struggling to put a bad slant on it admitting that the company has no near term debt issues and is actually in pretty good shape all things considered.

I come down on the side of herd mentality and over leveraging oneself and setting stop losses (Unless day trading momentum).
