Tbh - these guys obviously new the dire situation. They have to announce to market as soon as they know info. I very much doubt they woke this morning and thought we have a problem. They have certainly breached director rules

Too risky here.

Those who got in today at 70-40p are now effectively long term holders as they probably bought hoping for a quick 10-15%.

Those people will be pleading for us all to buy in to take the baby off them.

3 billion debt will lead to no shareholder value here in time.

whites123, wasn't it Thomas cook who was an oil producer and exploration company, with valuable assets and revenue coming in?

"Not one to split hairs, but (We are still awaiting results from TLW after nearly 4 months in the case of Jethro.)
Its not actully... its 3 months next week... Although 3 months is 2 months to long.."

I agree, you are not splitting hairs, just getting your JOE's mixed up with your Jethro's.

Bought in today with a very decent chance of multibagging from these levels.

Panic driven selling, margin calls, over leverage, stops, divi hunters selling, combine together you get a day like today.Let the dust settle and some rationale thinking kick in, buy when others are in fear as Buffett would say

GW stuff like what you've posted, together with the apparently precipitous departure of CEO/CFO leaves niggling doubts about whether TLW mislead the oil community.

From Align Reaearch... Taken a decent sized punt on Tullow Oil #TLW last few hrs. Cannot square price reaction excessivity with RNS of this morn. Looks like a sitting duck for Total or one of numerous other majors to us. Also, Carapa results due in days seemingly, risk is skewed to upside at this level

Not really, Afren ceo sentenced to 30 years for fraud and money laundering, hardly comparable to bad performance and missed guidance

Written by an oil expert after the first discovery...

"This is a substantial discovery made more important by the high value nature of the barrels it will produce and in a stroke de-risks a lot if not all of the Orinduik Block. The fact that it way exceeded pre-drill estimates does credit to the high quality seismic and the development should be simply done with little appraisal and low cost wells."
