03/2/2024 18:49 | Do his motives matter? If he’s putting forward an intelligent negative, factual viewpoint that can be debated… | aqc888
03/2/2024 17:50 | I am a recent holder here, below 40p I'm fortunate enough to say, and guess c.2 posts a day over 25 years makes me moderately prolific @J. But @strathroyal has been around for years, and posting 99 times on one thread and once on another doesn't make him a troll. Clearly a holder, with some useful things to say, as does @AndrewB. Big difference between filtering somebody (eg with 28 handles) and chucking them off a thread. Filter, if you're not keen on him/her. | spectoacc
03/2/2024 15:00 | nocents, I did not ban strathroyal for ANY of the reasons you suggested.....please re-read my posts. SpectoAcc, I think you are a recent poster here but I know that you are a very, very prolific poster on a number of companies and a number of topics. I wouldn't mind if you expanded on your "ridiculous" comment. | pavey ark
03/2/2024 11:18 | I think it would deter new eyeballs @Skyship, which of course ADVFN needs for its ever-more inclusive ads. Bring back the Bullshare/Mike Boydell days. But yes, they should do far, far more to address multiple handles and ramping. As for banning @strathroyal - ridiculous. | spectoacc
03/2/2024 09:42 | I certainly have no training or experience in the matter but I can't be alone in thinking that posting under numerous, different names/accounts (sometimes on the same bb)is more than a little strange.(I'm being kind here) I have 14 different shareholdings and although I only post on 4 or 5 I do try to keep up to date with all of them....I have little desire to spend my time wondering who is actually posting. I have received recent info so acsatix has been removed from this bb and for good measure I have removed strathroyal. Now there may be some howling and if you look back at some of their (his) posts there are some points that are worthy of debate and perhaps further examination but not under this rather underhand and creepy format. | pavey ark
03/2/2024 09:26 | I know most of us on here are losing heavily in terms of share price and negative comments on social media become more common in these cases but we should't be throwing around such accusations. | strathroyal
03/2/2024 09:16 | Siphoning off money is a ridiculous and unwarranted allegation. Best ignored. | nocents
03/2/2024 08:53 | acsatix, this company has taken up almost 100% of your postings over a number of years and in that time we have had many negative comments about, low ball offers, delisting and now strange theories about share buybacks. Even though your posting pattern does look odd (very odd) the above are still legitimate points of view.....implying corruption is on another level....unless you can provide some evidence I suggest you don't repeat that suggestion. AQC, certainly not you. | pavey ark
03/2/2024 07:41 | Ok if people argue there are utmost ethical people running this why did they stop the buyback now at 40p but they threw on it 1 M in a short order above 120p claiming this was accretive to value for such an undervalued business. Even 15k a week would send the right signal given it would be rather immaterial but consistent with earlier behaviour. At least we can all agree a 10m buyback was by far a safer value creation than giving it to a contractor of their choice | acsatix
02/2/2024 23:59 | Ab76 - siphon was a bad word choice on my part ;) but the executives, the local economy and the tax authorities have certainly done very well indeed out of TRIN. The shareholders, on the other hand, have not. This BoD do not appear to be either incentivised or inclined to fight our corner and they need to go. You are interested in cash flow figures, but cash flow is not that helpful a metric for a business that has to continually combat diminishing output (i.e. combat declines). The cost of this particular exercise may be treated as a capital cost but you could argue that it is really a cost of sales, or at least that an oiler like TRIN is a much more capital intensive proposition than businesses in other sectors, where cash flow can be a more useful metric. Basically, this means that you have a seemingly encouraging cash flow figure, which you like and are focusing on, or would be if you knew which of the two figures was the right one, but then the bank balance always ends up smaller than you think it should be - this is what has brought your investment to these lows. So you can see that focusing on cash flow is a bit of a trap for oil investors (and under this BoD TRIN is arguably the classic value trap - you think it is making progress but it turns out that it is running to stand still, and maybe, in light of Jacobin, not even that). | arlington chetwynd talbott
02/2/2024 22:18 | AQC888 - Funny thing is, once these great detectives, be it Pavey or Miss Marple, point these things out, you wonder how you missed it! been here for some time ... change of name... Must admit I would never have guessed, his posts are so informative and so like the original poster. | strathroyal
02/2/2024 20:18 | Who is spiv minor? | aqc888
02/2/2024 20:08 | I have the nagging feeling this company has set up some schemes to siphon off the shareholders’ cash. But I hope I have a bad judgment. | acsatix
02/2/2024 19:24 | Strathroyal, last year was not a vintage year it would seem. | aqc888
02/2/2024 17:27 | AQC 888 - Having upset a valued investor on here (me, not you) I thought that I would have a quick look at Simon's 2023 portfolio. Verdict has to be underwhelming. Of the 8 shares, 2 are up 50%, one down 80%, another down 15%, other 4 trading around their price when recommended. I'm not a follower of this investment theory so I don't know if that's a particular poor batch. The only upside is that at some stage they were all up on the buying price but 4 seemed to peak within 2 weeks of the tip and a fifth within a month. So to paraphrase Pavey on here run fast, run now and don't look back. | strathroyal
02/2/2024 17:23 | Am very grateful for your perpicacity Andrew, and the fact that you are actively engaging with Trin in this ridiculous matter. As we all ( imo) should do. I feel they should either release another RNS explaining, or get Cavendish to do so immediately!! You can’t have such glaring errors about your own revenue and ignore them. ( Why do I think this would not have likely happened pre July ‘22’s loss of BD). I don’t believe in hypotheticals as such but the finger seems well off the pulse right now, and significant shareholders should be active in this( I hope they are). You can’t leave discrepancies like this and brush them under the carpet. Thanks again for not just the info but your proactive comms with the company, even if they don’t yet have the grace to reply to you!!! | nocents
02/2/2024 15:18 | Thanks Andrew, just trying to make sense of things also. Will be interesting to see what transpires. | mark10101 |
